Stuff like this matters. The President should not be above the law or above the standard of contractual interpretation that would apply to any ordinary citizen. In the case of Trump, he has lived his entire life above the law, getting away with stuff that would’ve sent many others to jail, the poor house, or both. This might seem like a little thing to Middle America, but it really isn’t.
