I donât know if they are the first to use the tactic but they sure picked up and ran with it as a mainframe of their philosophy of how to disseminate their propaganda. Once Murdoch and his ilk were successful in getting the Fairness Doctrine out of the way, got the rules regarding numbers and types of media any one person/company might own in any given media market and got Murdochâs ass in as a U.S. citizen, they were good to go.
