Discussion: WATCH: New Hampshire Focus Group Fawns Over Trump

“I knew that he was a wealthy, successful man and I remember asking my
mother if I could write him a letter to ask him how he made his money so
that I could do it too,” Jessica, a data analyst, said.

Whaa? These were adults being questioned and this one pipes up with the fact that she had to ask her mother if she could write to him? What exactly does she analyze - for a living???!!!

WTF??? :frowning:

I think I can answer her question: he made his money off of moron rubes like herself. Your welcome.

Do they ever sound like a Fox News viewing crowd. And what about that damn “liberal” media we always hear about? The same 'liberal" media that is fawning all over this guy.

Hey genius, didn’t your Mom tell you he inherited it, a ship that sail passed you.

If she wants to be be rich she should have been born rich like him. Dropped face first on home plate at birth and these fools think he hit a home run.

Trump gets away with lies and half-truths, and doubling down on them. The majority of the country thinks he’s a buffoon already, and the balance comprises the gullible cowards known as the Republican base. So yes, to them he is an aspirational figure.

Nothing like unknowingly burning yourself…“just like us”…yeah…ignorant racist dickheads…minus the billion dollars they’ll never have every time they wake up.

Some article I read used the phrase “failing upward” to describe his career. If he weren’t a loudmouth celebrity with a huge hole in his soul, nobody outside New York real estate circles and not that many people inside them would ever have heard of him. These days, four billion just doesn’t make you stand out among the rich folks.

More depressing:

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. "

To paraphrase Krugman’s (?) statement about Newt Gingrich, Trump is a classless person’s idea of what class looks like.

Never forget that the twenty-odd percent is still out there. The rest of us here in NH can still walk and chew gum at the same time. That said, I’m still slightly embarrassed that by these simpletons.

I remember people in my family saying the same thing about George W Bush. I said he may be like you but he sure isn’t like me.

I know that is true. I live in Southern California and we have our share of them too.

Well, Jessica, it works like this. You choose the right parents. I suspect the idea that Trump is a self-made man is wide-spread among his GOP fans. Fact is he was born into one of the largest real-estate holdings in the NYC area. The real question to ask The Donald is “How can a casino go bankrupt?”

He’s like one of us…

Which explains exactly why none of you is qualified to be President, either.

Where is Roman Hruska when we need him?

“like one of us”

Indeed. Loudly, belligerently, consistently, persistently and insistently misinformed, ignorant, bigoted, self-centered, selfish, self-entitled, self-serving, mendacious, racist, tinfoil hatted, willing to rewrite history and deny facts to maintain and protect delusions, ideologically dogmatic and completely and utterly in thrall of wealth and the wealthy.
