âWolfâs remarks were so raunchy that Matt Schlapp â chairman of the American Conservative Union and a former Koch Industries vice president â walked out of the event complaining about âelites mocking all of us.ââ
Yes because Michelle Wolf is the elite and the Koch industry guy is the poor common man just trying to make ends meet.
I thought her performance was kind of weak belly laugh-wise. On the other hand, her comments were scathing and she was merciless, which I enjoyed immensely.
Kudos to Wolf.
ETA I see Tony Bourdain agrees.
Komrad Puppet will never get over the beat down he got from President Obama at his last WH Correspondentsâ Dinner, even if he lives to be 200.
Yeah, I suppose you could call this raunchy if it were 1972. Quite funny in spots. Any wingnuts want to flounce off in a huff, feel free.
It appears that the Waterford Crystal-delicate fee-fees of our stalwart and brave media mavens were hurt by Ms. Wolfâs honest appraisal of them, especially when she pointed out:
â(Trump) has helped you sell your papers and your books and your TV. You helped create this monster & now youâre profiting off of him.â
Of course, they pretended to be offended by Ms. Wolfâs attacks on serial and unapologetic liar Sarah Huckabee Sanders, when the only thing of Ms. Sandersâ appearance Wolf made fun of was her smoky eye make-up. But I guess they needed some excuse for their feigned outrage.
And my fave rave, Maggie Haberman, Star Journamalist, stood up for poor Sarah, who has lied to the DC press corps more than Donald Trump has looked in the mirror. I have been criticized endlessly here for my animosity towards Haberman, as though my dislike of her has something to do with misogyny or sexism, but any member of the press who defends a liar like Sanders deserves to be called out. Ms. Wolf could have been much, much more insulting toward Sanders, and Sanders would have deserved every bit of ridicule. But Haberman jumps to Sandersâ defense in a heartbeat, which says plenty about her journalistic priorities, so donât expect me to feel any guilt about criticizing Mags in the future.
But my favorite part of the whole affair was Stormy Daniels attorney (and my nominee for âSexiest Member of the American Bar Associationâ) Michael Avenetti photobombing Kellyanne Conway, who apparently thought she was attending a Cosplay event, since she came dressed as Donald Trumpâs first wife Ivana:
Frank Luntz: The WHCD went over the line:: It ought to be safe for eight year olds and she used the Presidentâs language so it wasnât!
Yeah, Frank. I always tell the eight-year-olds I know to go out and grab a woman by her pu**y. Wasnât that a song that Oscar the Grouch sang last season on âSesame Streetâ?
Avenetti is definitely a man who knows how to make the most of his 15 minutes.
Hell, heâll probably stretch it out to a few hours.
That was hilarious!
I think you meant âSexiestâ, right?
âchairman of the American Conservative Union and a former Koch Industries vice president â walked out of the event complaining about âelites mocking all of us.ââ
That just makes me laugh.
So that just make him joe public, working stiff I guess.
I thought she was funny, awkward and biting all wrapped together. She has a very compelling approach.
These âfuck your feelingsâ #snowflakes have no business complaining. It reminds me a bit of when Stephen Colbert dispensed with niceties at this event over 10 years ago and lit into the Bush Administration and the media elite for their support of the Iraq war. Colbert was vindicated and so too will Wolf.
Loved it. She is wicked!
Best part- Sarah Huckabee Sanders not knowing that the only way to survive a comedian is to laugh harder than anyone else.
What a dope she looked like, sitting there with her stern librarian glare!
Predictable right wing snowflakes all clutching their pearls the next day, of course. Jesus, Gabby Giffords and Steve Scalise were BOTH FUCKING SHOT, and they whined less!!
Wonât SOMEBODY think of the BILLIONAIRES???
Speaking of which, mocking Trump for exaggerating his wealth is really something that gets under his skin. Heâs just âdoing OKâ in NYC? Heh.
Brave performance. Well done.

A politico since the 90s, worked in the WH, and Fox News political contributor a just a regular Joe Schmo.
And yet, Mr Schlep was able to make sure his remarks made it into the media.
Reminds me of a couple I saw many years ago watching Bill Hicks. You could tell they were hating every minute of it. But you could also see them making notes for their letter to the editor.
How much embalming fluid does it take to make her appearance palpable to the public at large?
When you ask for the bull, you get the horns, Wow. Sarah managed to make herself look old enough to be Kellyanneâs mother.
