Are you suggesting that the kids should have shot the cop? Or that this kid should be armed? Or that we should figure out which cops are assholes and take their guns? Or that citizens should be able to shoot asshole cops? Gotta be one of those…

Is it standard procedure to take out the handcuffs in order to threaten someone who has done nothing whatsoever that could even be remotely construed as an arrestable offense?

Same Cop was shot 3 times in a previous incident with a guy on a bike.
In this instance, of course we don’t see what led to this. The kid says he has 15 minutes of tape, why not post all of it? Why only the last minute? Interesting. But we do know clearly this kid had folded and flipped his license plate, so he deserved a ticket. Why be wise ass? And the cop called him “sir” and chewed his ass out at the same time. No violence or physical action. None. Good. I can’t stand little punks like this, they need a little wake up call, and the cop gave it to him.

that’s what disorderly conduct charges are for – vague enough to provide cover for bullshit arrests. just ask the nypd.
these charges are typically dismissed; but at least the cop gets the satisfaction that someone had to spend some time in jail. they esp love to do this on fridays, when it guarantees a nice long weekend in custody.

And he’s either fit for duty because that event does not cause him to suffer severe lapses in judgment or exhibit irrational, unwarranted anger, threaten people with unlawful arrests and exhibit potentially violent tendencies OR he’s not fit for duty, BECAUSE THIS.

Or the cop can fucking grow the hell up and learn to deal with the kind of harmless disrespect people sometimes direct towards authority figures, particular authority figures who screw them with a ticket.

Love it all you want. Valdes is having the last laugh while this cop gets investigated and his fitness for duty is questioned because of his ridiculously childish and unprofessional, potentially dangerous, arguably unlawful outburst and threats. I’m pretty sure that by any measure, Valdes is got the better of him and the cop gets nothing out of it but a larger human resources folder.

He folded up his license plate and put it backwards on his motorcycle (he admitted it). He asked for a Ticket when he did that. This is not rolling through a stop sign slow, or forgetting your blinker, or going 40 in a 35 zone. No plates is just real dumb and you are clearly begging to be pulled over if you do that.
And we are not sure if he did anything else, right now we only have the punks statement.
