I gotta say there are times when Rump actually sounds sort of sympathetic and decent. As when he was speaking about Carrier letting go of 1400 people and “making them pay.” Of course I realize he’s an insane carnival barker but sometimes I can see how his act works on the very low info voters.
Carrier can possibly manufacture and sell their wares to U.S. consumers for less money, or hold pricing down, by moving jobs out of country. Trump does it for his clothing line. The same damned people that bitch about outsourcing would faint if they had to pay for fruits and vegetables that were harvested by U.S. citizens making a fair wage (and being paid benefits) as opposed to crops picked and packed by cheap immigrant labor. The Carrier tech pissed about his job loss likely didn’t piss and moan when he hired that crew of Mexicans to put a new roof on his house instead of using an established domestic firm costing more that paid prevailing wages and benefits. The hypocrisy surrounding the outsourcing issue is endless.
