Must see TV! The follow-up is a live broadcast of Trump taking a particularly stinky crap. Expect a panel discussion on what kind of undies he’s wearing and whether his belt shows unusual wear.
I’m not going to watch the speech, because I’m guessing it can be summarized as “Trump : I’m awesome and you’re not.”

Because there is no more appropriate place to speak on MLK day than a “university” founded by a man who has been quoted while preaching from the pulpit as saying:
“The facilities (white-only schools) should be separate. When God has drawn a line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line.”
“The true Negro does not want integration. He realizes his potential is far better among his own race.”
Falwell went on to announce that integration “will destroy our race eventually. In one northern city,” he warned, “a pastor friend of mine tells me that a couple of opposite race live next door to his church as man and wife.”
I’m sure the audience will greet Donald’s message warmly.

I wonder if he’ll give the assembled crowd a demonstration of biting the little cracker. Maybe ask everyone to show their dreidel.
“We’re gonna protect Christianity!!” trump says. Welp, so much for freedom of religion. Praps trump can expound on his “a little wine and that little cracker” comment from 5 months ago.
Yesterday trump said “I have a great relationship with God” as if God is one of his twitter followers.

I don’t have much respect for Liberty University. I think it was built on the bigotry and hypocracy of Jerry Falwell, and certainly the law school there leaves much academically lacking. That said, this is one of the most blatant pandering moves, even for Trump, among the GOP. Trump, thrice married and the last two have been morality lacking doozies, claims to be Presbyterian. Now Presbyterians can certainly be all over the map from the progressiveness of Wm S Coffin to the fundamentism that came late in life to Francis Schaffer, but I never heard a Presbyterian refer to communion as feeling a bit better after having eaten a cracker. I don’t normally like to speak for others, but in this case, I am fairly confident that Trumps last two marriages have been a search for arm candy with respect to women. He certainly has no respect for 99% of the rest of women or men for that matter either. He represents just about everything that is wrong with Amreican discourse and is an embarrassment to most of the country. The UK has it right. I wouldn’t want him in my country either if I were them. You can’t know exactly what it in someone elses heart and mind, but in Trumps case, God, spirituality and a deep concern for the human condition on it’s face seem so lacking this seems like a truly stupid move. Trump speaking at a fundamentalist college is akin to Cosby speaking to a convention of sex therapists.

Does anyone else find it unusual that trump gets unlimited airtime on CNN and Fox whereas any other candidate of either party does not. To get this much coverage Hillary had to be called to testify before Congress. All trump has to do is hold a usual campaign event same as any other candidate and the media goes breathless in its wall to wall coverage.
This is very strange to me. Is it to anyone else?

Right now on c-span the UK is debating banning Trump from entering the country.
I agree and don’t forget right here at TPM. Actually MSNBC gives him a lot of coverage too. I don’t’ watch CNN orFox and to be honest MSNBC is becoming unwatchable except for Rachel and Lawrence O’D in the evening. I am sick if cleaning spittle from the TV after watching Chris Matthews, depending on which Chris Matthews shows up that night
The media today are little more than ambulance chasers. Trump, the more outrageous, insulting and bizarre his appareances, the more coverage he gets. He is like Jessica falling in the well, the OJ trial, Katrina, Cosby, and a DC sex scandal rolled into one. Once the general starts, the nasty ads, the behavior of the two candidates, the press will gravitate to both for the best dirt.

Trump took a quote out of context in the most blatant fashion I’ve yet seen in politics. From 2 Corinthians and to paraphrase…“Where God is… there is Liberty”… as if God is a republican. In that sense liberty isn’t what trump thinks it is. it’s liberty from the old Mosaic law, it’s liberty from sin. It is not meant in any political sense.
What a doofus trump is.
