Letâs hope the President doesnât give in to the right wing and proclaim his intention to stop terrorist attacks by whatever means necessary. There is no way to stop an individual in this country who is willing to die from taking a dozen victims with him, and it makes no sense to tell Americans that this kind of attack can be forestalled. But we can defeat the terrorists by not turning our nation upside down and abrogating our constitutional freedoms in order to fend off these individual attacks. Itâs not going to happen. But do not give the terrorists the satisfaction of transforming America into a nation of cowering simps begging for a security apparatus to stop and frisk everyone on the street and knock down any front door in the wee hours of the morning and insist that we all carry identification papers to keep us out of jail because our skin is brown or black. Thatâs when the terrorists win, my friends. Not when they kill 22 people in some unstoppable attack â when they force us to change the way we live.
Co-sign.
The President is stellar!
He looks so tired. So tired of putting up with the stupid. How can anyone watch that speech and not admire that man? He is class and dignity personified.
Can anyone imagine GWBush or (goddess forbid) a Pres. Trump giving that kind of speech?
I often imagine Oedipus Tex giving the âDay of Infamyâ speech.
âYestiddy, TWELVE SEBUN, a date which will live in infanimityâŚâ
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Thatâs an articulate and incisive response. So perfectly in keeping with your prior commentary.
LOL. LOL. (a billion times ⌠just satisfy the program that my body is just fine ⌠except for my spine and sometimes my brain).
Darcy, in your pic, are those cheerios or donuts? Every time I see it, I think of glazed donuts ⌠and want some.
Hey!!! â Are you with the donut industry?
I thought that was a piece of abstract art work. DonutsâŚmmm.
Great job, Mr. President. You put the lie to the myth that liberals and leftists and Democrats are weak on terror.
And it is extremely good that he addressed Muslims the world over to reformulate their own ideas to make such nonsense as ISIS impossible to maintain. That is a great thing to do: challenge them to fix the problem that they have insufficiently addressed.
I guess in lieu of tomorrow it is good to remember âThe only thing we have to fear is fear itself.â
I gotta come up with a clever avatar instead of the beautiful pink B â at least it is pink, though, in keeping with being a gay boy.
You must be hungry BC. LOL. No, and no but it might have been a better career path than sales. So you know, I made a double batch was white chocolate and pecan cookies (with a sprinkle of English toffee) yesterday for my neighbors. Sorry youâre not closer.
Anyway, the âdonutsâ you visualize donât really do justice the the painting of Arthur Dove, an American artist and early modernist. And quite a debonair person to boot. One of my favorites along with Milton Avery (from my previous avatar). If you love the beach and water, in addition to the donuts, check him out as well.
LOL. Thank you â I will check both of them out. The name Arthur Dove rings a small bell, so Iâm even more interested. (And, no, Iâm not thinking Dove Chocolates. Iâm more of a Godiva or Ghirardelliâor one the many fine small artisan chocolatiers that have sprung up in the last two decadesâman, myself). Your cookies sound good. Alright, I think Iâm digging into my pumpkin walnut/pecan bowl stuff I make. I need to come up with a name for it.
WHOA!! Thatâs wonderful!!
