Discussion: WATCH LIVE: Obama Delivers Remarks On Ebola AT 3:40 PM

Discussion for article #229481

Wanna get the GOP/Teatrolls to stop their demagoguery, fearmongering and panic instigation over it? Simple: do the same thing with Ebola that the GOP/TEatrolls/Bigot Conservatives did with AIDS and pretend that it’s a disease that only effects people the GOP/Teatrolls hate. AIDS was a “gay people disease,” so they couldn’t give a fuck back in the 80’s. Convince the fucking twats that Ebola is a “black people disease” and they’ll back off.

The speech was very good. He talked about American exceptionalism and how we don’t run and face issues head on. He talked about the great efforts we are doing overseas in setting up facilities and getting supplies where it’s needed. He mentioned how other countries are now following suit. Most notably he spoke about our brave doctors and how we should treat them like the heroes they are - many are volunteering their time and efforst in combating this disease and they deserve our support.

I’m sure by the end of the day we will have an inaccurate count of how many times he said “I” or some other dumb shit to grab our attention instead but I thought the speech was meant to calm our fear and embrace the healthcare workers instead of shunning them. I doubt it will work but Obama proves he is a leader who is not playing on fear and really believes in America - unlike others who pay lip service to it.

He can’t win for losing. I don’t know how the guy gets up everyday to do his job. He’s amazing. As much as I will miss him, I can’t wait until he has some peace in his life after enduring this bullshit for 8 years
