One howler monkey (Hannity) supporting another (Trump)…no surprise there. It’s simply birds of a feather flocking together. One facet of this, however, is how quickly loathsome hypocrites and liars like Hannity and nutcase Alex Jones, who have build lucrative careers shouting, “Big Government is our enemy and is destroying our privacy, taking away our personal freedoms…blah, blah, blah.” get on their knees to Trump. Now they offer unconditional ass kisses and swear fealty immediately to The Donald, a man who wants to use the power of the federal government to round up and deport millions of people (The basic elements of such a state apparatus should, alone, horrify anyone fearing Big Government.), who wants to bar all Muslims from entering this country, who wants to build a massively impractical and impossible wall along a 1000+ mile border, who threatens war with any country that crosses us…and on and on and on. THIS is Big Government gone wild, on steroids…dictatorial and nationally repressive. And these FOXland Baggers have no trouble embracing it.

So this is why I think it’s foolish to underestimate Trump’s chances. He has successfully positioned himself as not being a part of the deeply unpopular GOP - he even threw a reasonably likable (within the GOP) speaker under the bus - and now begins the process of bending them to his will. He is saying both the Democrats and the Republicans suck - and this message will resonate. Sure, people have decided that they think Trump is an asshole, but that doesn’t mean they have decided he can’t be president. And all the hatred directed towards Trump from the establishment just cements his image as the asshole to get the job done. His pivot to the center won’t be the usual pivot. His pivot will be, “These morons aren’t making your life easier, they’re making it harder. The system is rigged against you!”

“Policy?” That’s a liberal satanic worship word. If you have a policy position, it means you think government should do things and can do things. “Policy” implies actual engagement with and engagement by Big Gubbamint. The only permissible policies are tax policies that take the tax burden of big gubbamiint of our hard-pressed Job Creators.

Princess Elsa Ryan also ruined Mitt Romney’s chances of winning the Presidency. Like Mitt who lost all his home states, Elsa did not win his own home state either.
Hannity is right. A new Speaker would be good for the party and for the country.
Paul should have kept his mouth shut.

Hate to admit it, but even though I believe reasonable folks won’t be voting for Trump this fall, there are so many unreasonable people out there who are easily swayed and/or willing to muck things up because they’re angry. Some of that anger is justified because we’ve often been sold off to the highest bidder in the past, the world is a lot smaller and we’re less competitive globally. It’s not all gloom and doom, though – there’s strong potential for this nation to take the lead in newer, environmentally-friendly energy production, bio-technology (for example). The Dems need to keep pounding away at Donald Trump and why he’s not good for any of us (except himself) – and never let up. Nothing personal, just clear policy. Never let up on motivation efforts.
