But some of his best friends have built their living on making pot a crime.

Colbert said he would have been prevented from holding elected office if he’d been caught in the act.

…and were not white. colbert forgot that part.

What a rambling, incoherent, meaningless response from Kasich.

“We don’t want to tell our kids don’t do drugs, but by the way this drug is okay,” Kasich said.

“Isn’t that what alcohol is?” Colbert said to loud applause from the audience.

Annnnnnd…We’ll have to leave it there!

I’d like to have that re-visiticism (sp?) stat checked too. Under %20? Me thinks John Kasich’s ass hurts. I call bullshit on that. I’m checking online now. I’ll keep you posted.

“Do as I’m telling you you must–never ever as I, myself, have done.”

Is that what I’m hearing Kasich preach?

“recidivism”

Wow…I wasn’t even close. Thanks!

Kasich isn’t letting any grass grow under his feet.

Kasich sounds a bit like Hillary on this issue. They have both basically said no, I don’t want to see people jailed and/or having criminal records over marijuana but yeah, I’m against changing the laws that lead to people being jailed and having criminal records over marijuana. Because drugs is bad and pot is drugs.

And he’s worried about sending a “confusing message” to kids? How about the confusing message that a much less harmful substance like marijuana is illegal, while much more harmful substances like alcohol and tobacco are perfectly legal. Apparently kids are supposed to be too stupid to notice that little oopsie.

And voters.

Same tired message. “Twas okay for me but bad for thee.”

Unfortunately for him, (most) kids aren’t stupid.

Kasich is another Scott Walker, seemed like a threat until they got him talking. Maybe he’s stoned or on pain meds?

Kasich; pot is awful, terrible, a gateway drug, that’s it. Now, can I please have my complimentary cocktails, I gotta wash down my drugs.

After Kasich admitted that he had himself smoked pot before, Colbert said he would have been prevented from holding elected office if he’d been caught in the act.

This is by far the easiest way to convince people of the problem. It should resonate with them…were they not completely selfish, lacking in empathy and/or straight up sociopaths.

Problem in Ohio was 10 operations wanted to monopolize the growing of weed and shut out home growers. That’s why the initiative was voted down. Otherwise legalization for recreation would have passed I think.

Given that marijuana use is pervasive and young people find they can use it with minimal health risks, it always seemed criminal to me that they lumped it in with genuinely dangerous drugs like heroin and cocaine. I think that is far more confusing then letting people know that marijuana is not nearly as dangerous as the drugs that lead to hard core addictions. I miss the character, but Colbert still does great interviews.

Kasich is a pusher pushing abstinence and that just doesn’t work.

Do politicians abstain from pandering or flat out lying? Is Kasich hooked on power at the expense of likely half of his constituents?
