If it were the DLC - I would agree. But the DSCC has done good things and you need to have a bigger organization to support all candidates. With that said, I do not donate to party groups (including the DSCC) but rather take your advice and donate directly to candidates I believe in. Just saying, don’t paint with too broad of a brush.
Agreed. Too big to fail is too big to be.
warren isn’t trolling, she’s doing her job, and very well at that.
Hillary Clinton won’t back this.
That is telling, isn’t it.
Hillary is not a Democrat.
These Banksters are unrepentant thugs who make Mafioso look like choirboys. These pissy little brats are simply getting colicky at the thought of having their favorite toys taken away from them.
In 2008, I said the 100 worst Banksters should taken out and executed and their bodies left in front of the NYSE as a warning to the rest and then imposed some actual restrictions and held the bastards to them.
She IS a Democrat, but there is little left of her that is remotely liberal. She went over to the Dark Side a long time ago.
It was Bill Clinton who repealed Glass-Steagall in order for the Third Way DLC corporate toe suckers to garner the funds from the banksters they’re now threatening to withhold.
Chuckie Cheese Schumer will no doubt give Warren her comeuppance once he takes over Reid’s spot. He won’t be as tolerant of her as Reid was of the Republicrats like Max Baucus and Ben Nelson.
Meanwhile, kept well under wraps is the Trans Pacific Partnership that Obama is both pushing and keeping secret. Wikileaks informs us that a provision of that ass-reaming of the American worker will be that we can be sued if a foreign corporation’s profit expectations aren’t met because of policies that put the public interest over those profits. But shhhhh! We aren’t supposed to know that!
This ain’t your grandfather’s Democratic Party.
I remember when Mama Bell was broken up because it had become a monopoly business.
And you know this how?
The same way that S.E. Cupp does?
Please explain and show your work.
But remember this is the MSM therefore they want any person but their ordained to look bad…
TPM, after you hire a proofreader, maybe you can get someone to explain the meaning of “troll.”
It was very telling the difference in the economies and growth say at Blair, WA and Niagara Falls, NY since 2008. One side booming the other being boarded-up.
I don’t think the headling was calling SPW a “troll” in the Internet sense; more like she was fishing for a reaction and/or ridiculing the bankers’ position. More, please. This woman is a phenomenon, and we need people like her to represent the real Democratic party.
Agreed. I mean, were any responsible or respectable banks among the ones that pulled this juvenile stunt in the first place? I haven’t heard of any non-dirty banks or credit unions bitching about warren.
You mean like this? I especially like #12: verb (used without object) to move nimbly, as the tongue in speaking.
Inspired by Michael McDonald’s sister, Maureen. She was interested in inner-city problems (something the Republicans will have to Answer For, as they get to the Fourth Circle).
Whether Hillary Clinton runs for President or not, Elizabeth Warren needs our support, in or out of the Senate.
If you’ll recall Michael McDonald performed in '08 at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. He was onstage at Invesco Field singing “America the Beautiful”. Heady days back then…the unity and the real-life big-tent coalition of the Democratic Party fully on display. Looking at that audience…it was a rainbow of all kinds of people in that stadium. Something you will never see at a Republican Convention except when the cameras focus on the front row, where they tend to pile up all the disparate people from various minority groups for sheer visual effect and a completely false narrative on the makeup of their party.
BTW, I just read that McDonald went to school growing up in Ferguson, Missouri. Fun fact. He’s one of their hometown boys.
I once told someone that I’m a Liberal by necessity. At heart, I believe that people should be free to do pretty much what they want, but that they should live their life in accordance with a few basic guidelines like not doing something that deliberately harms another. At heart, I’m a Libertarian.
The problem is that people and the businesses/corporations they run will do whatever they can in order to get the most gain for themselves. Basically, if all banks did the right things, they wouldn’t need to be regulated. If all people did the right thing, we wouldn’t need all these pesky laws.
