Discussion: WaPo: McConnell 'Not Credible' O-Care And Kentucky Exchange Claim

Discussion for article #223283

Sure, any state could have put in exchanges and mandates and provided subsidies on its own as Massachusetts did with Romneycare. Is Mitch now urging Kentucky Republicans to do that? Is he?

ā€œNot Credibleā€

Iā€™m gonna enter that into the understatement of the year award running. Thatā€™s like saying oh, golly geeā€¦after rigorous research, the moon isnā€™t actually made of green cheese.

But Kessler doesnā€™t award any of his Pinnochios to McConnellā€™s false claims.

McConnell doesnā€™t give a s**t about his credibility, facts, or the truth. Heā€™s got an election to win after all, and that is all that is important to him. The consequences of his election and how they affect his constituents donā€™t factor into his thinking at all. Well, I guess he does care how they affect the rich ones.

Occam whips out the Razor, and determines that the simplest explanation is the correct one:

McConnell is just a craven, lying filthy piece of shit.

Who listens to this ā€˜old cootā€™ anyway. There are plenty of pastures there in KY, turn him loose, set us freeā€¦PLEASE.

Exactly! He talks about Mitch straddling the fence, but Kessler is actually attempting to do the same. Why, oh why, is it so hard for the mainstream media to call a lie, a lie? Infuriating!

When turtles tip over while straddling the fence (!!) they never manage to upright themselves without a lot of help. I guess Mitch is depending upon ALL his wealthy donors to help him out ā€“ and cares not about the poor Kentuckians who can now sleep at night without worrying about bankruptcyā€¦or even dying without available healthcare.

Kessler being the republican suck up that he is, handled McConnellā€™s blatant lie with kid gloves. Kessler referring to McConnellā€™s blatant lie as ā€œtrying to straddle a political fenceā€ is laughable.

Liar, liar!
Carapace on fire!

ā€œFlaming Turtleā€ā€¦

Sounds like something your date would drink at Elephant Barā€¦

Iā€™m not sure about that. I saw a documentary about a British guy and his dog who built a rocket in their basement and then flew to the moon to harvest cheese. Seemed pretty compelling and sciencey.

FYI: Thereā€™s a new Wenzel Strategies poll out that has McConnell up just 3% over Grimes. Wenzel Strategies has one of the worst Republican biases of any pollsters, even worse than Rasmussen.

In Louisiana, they call it ā€œturtle flambĆ©ā€.

TPM! A little editing please:

Fact Checker: ā€œMitch not credible.ā€

Straddling a fence? No, its not straddling a fence. Itā€™s called lying. And itā€™s what McConnell always does when he is not busy shitting on his constituentsā€™ interests, and castrating the Federal government. Time for him to go.

I remember Wenzel Strategies. They do the polling for WorldNetDaily. Here are some of their results from 2012:

  • Missouri Senate race, McCaskill (D) vs. Akin Ā®
    Wenzel: Akin by 4
    Result: McCaskill by 16
  • Ohio Senate race, Brown (D) vs. Mandel Ā®
    Wenzel: Mandel by 5
    Result: Brown by 6
  • Pennsylvania Senate race, Casey (D) vs. Smith Ā®
    Wenzel: Casey by 1
    Result: Casey by 9
  • Virginia Senate race, Kaine (D) vs. Allen Ā®
    Wenzel: Allen by 3
    Result: Kaine by 6
  • Wisconsin Senate race, Baldwin (D) vs. Thompson Ā®
    Wenzel: Thompson by 2
    Result: Baldwin by 5
  • Ohio presidential race
    Wenzel: Romney by 3
    Result: Obama by 3
  • Virginia presidential race
    Wenzel: Romney by 2
    Result: Obama by 4

If Wenzel has McConnell up by 3, itā€™s time for high fives all around.

And now, your moment of zenā€¦

On one of the McConnell threads yesterday, someone in the story or the comments pointed out that Kentucky had in fact looked into doing exactly that, but found that they didnā€™t constitute a big enough market to make it work. I could be wrong, but I suspect McConnell is aware of that.

Well duh! That was obvious the moment that gentleman spoke those asinine words. However, it is always a good idea when politicians are called out on stupidity.
