Oh Gee, I hate having to make such a difficult choice - fear or racism??? Man, that’s really hard.
The shooter was never closer than about 15 feet to the flame-thrower guy. He had to shout to get his attention. Pure unprovoked assault. It wasn’t wise to bring that flamey contraption and if the guy gets in trouble I won’t cry for him either. But the shooter guy clearly was in zero danger at any time. That’s usually a problemo legally just for brandishing, much less letting one go in a crowd.
Maybe it’s just me, but some guy with a can of hairspray and a lighter vs a guy with a gun?
Gun wins every fucking time unless the wielder is too stupid to know how to use it.
The guy with the hairspray flame was keeping the crowd coming down the stairs going after the cringing elderly white man behind him from what I’ve read.

The Charlottesville police looked terrible all through this situation and I think and hope there’ll be serious repercussions and changes nationwide.
[/quote]There will probably be serious intense investigations by Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions’s DOJ, just like there would have been under Eric Holder.
There were fine people in that crowd.
It should be pointed out that making a flamethrower out of spray can is also an incredibly stupid thing to do. A kid in my high school class tried that once and he lost most of his fingers and his face when the can exploded. It ruined his life.
Uh. What about Corey Long, the flamethrower – that doesn’t exactly meet the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. Should he face any charges?

Yep, and the result will be the banning of spray canss from future rallies - moar guns though.
I would say he should, but I am more concerned about open carry protests. You really are a stupid shot away from a frigging gunfight with dozens of casualties on all sides.
I’d be willing to bet a box of my own money that the Charlottesville PD is filled with racist fucknuts, Klan sympathizers, and garden-variety white bigots.
Were these the Charlottesville Police or the UVA police. If the latter, they’re probably accustomed mostly to moped thefts and weekend drunkenness.
insane to allow open carry at protests, or in general. You’re moments away from a mass gunfight in a crowd the whole time
NRA and white supremacist game plan.
In this upside down world, we look to insurance lobbyists (or higher premiums) to prod lawmakers towards sane gun laws, medical industry lobbyists to prod them away from AHCA… Smh.
You’re so young and so cynical, it’s sad. But certainly Sessions’ DOJ is not the only stakeholder here.
I think you’re right
Corey Long told Don Lemon the gunshot came first, but it’s hard to tell in this video.
It was a mix of law enforcement. In the video, it’s state police.
Has to be racism then because they keep telling us they shoot people when they’re afraid. And they’re always afraid.
Would that be " the good guy with a gun"?
