Discussion: Video Captures Immediate Aftermath Of Michael Brown Shooting

Discussion for article #226556

Too bad this video wasn’t available to show the pro-Wilson protesters.

He’s not spitting on the corpse or stringing it up to a burning cross. So he clearly isn’t racist.

Ten bucks says Fox doesn’t cover this part of the story.

I really don’t see why this was released. What does this have to do with the case?

Could we see that robbery video again? Maybe some images of Michael Brown that white people find scary, rap lyrics, you know…non caucasian stuff. The press is really demanding it. They can’t hold on to it forever. This video though? Nah…no reason to release it.

Why give them cause to cheer.

The Ferguson PD had this video when they released the robbery video.

Obviously shows his guilt of the capital crime of being black in public…compounded with being in the middle of the street necessitating immediate judgement by application of lethal force.

I think the lesson to learn here is that nobody is all that scary with six bullets in them.

Where did this kid get off?

One question I wonder about: what kind of gun was this officer armed with? Was it somehow automatic? Any use of force here was clearly crazy, but I can’t imagine how he pulled the trigger six times (or more: did he miss at all?). I wonder if part of the ‘militarization’ angle is police with guns that are simply too deadly.

Police carry firearms with trigger pulls roughly three times as heavy as firearms available to the general public. Ostensibly, this is to keep caffeine addled jittery fingers from discharging a gun until the officer reeeally intends to. Nevertheless, trained police officers can empty a magazine pretty quickly. Edit.

Next time he’ll think twice about taking a box of cigars. Hey. Hold on a minute. Well if there could be a next time …

It is exceptionally easy to fire six shots (and we’re assuming they all hit, which is pretty unlikely) in an extremely short time.

The one thing I think MIGHT make it more likely that the cop was at least telling a little truth is I don’t think most cops could score six hits from the supposed 30 feet away.

My guess is that there might have been a struggle, Brown realized he wasn’t going to get the gun, and he ran for it.

Which still doesn’t excuse 6+ shots fired at the back of a fleeing perp.

Of course, then again, the shots allegedly hit him in the front.

I think I’ll wait for a final report.

Nothing “alleged” about the FACT, documented in TWO autopsies, that all 6 bullets hit him in the FRONT (and that the last entered the top of his head, which is only possible if he was already going down.)
I agree that most cops could not place 6 shots into someone with that spacing from 30 feet away, that means that Micheal Brown was standing still with his arms up (like ALL of the eyewitnesses have stated) and the cop walked up to him and shot him 6 times, the last one in the top of the head as he was going down from the first 5.
Explain that away.

My first thought is she would’ve never seen her phone again if things happened like she said they did and she had recorded the entire incident/shooting.

Um…I’m not explaining away shit.

I’d heard it as ‘shot in the back from 30 feet away’ enough times I thought that’s what the current story was.

It wasn’t at his back. The autopsy shows he was shot from the front, which is what multiple witnesses said. He started to run, was grazed by a bullet, turned around and was shot several more times, including at least twice in the head.

Not sure where you heard that… I have consistently read that he was shot from the front.
