Classy.

Thanks VJ, for reminding us of what that looks like in these turbulent times.

Raising the Barr for going high.

Nice sentiment but these people aren’t teachable.

Roseanne always openly embraced her inner-slattern. It was funny at first to have a woman celebrating her own vulgarity but it’s a one-trick pony act.

Valerie Jarrett is classy and a rather elegant person.

Jarrett on Tuesday tweeted of Barr: “Sloven sisterhood & planet of the dopes had a baby=rb.”

The first House investigation of the scandal was announced hours later by Paul Ryan and other GOP leaders at a live press conference.

It is highly doubtful that she even knows what it means.

“Teaching” moment?

The whole point of the Republican party is to avoid teaching and learning. An educated populace would kill their viability.

(Although a combination of Citizens United, voter intimidation and media consolidation is how they plan to ride out this storm)

Probably not many in a character sense. But there are almost certainly goodly numbers who could realize that for all the talk in their in-group about “snowflakes” and “social justice warriors” and all, about the absolute necessity of eliminating the fascistic dominance of political correctness and so forth, there remain things you just do not say if you want to be respected out in the world. Those things aren’t funny, aren’t edgy, aren’t acceptable, and will bring you rejection. You can label it anything you like but the world has moved on from people calling black people apes and getting away with it. If you didn’t realize that as late as this morning, maybe you realize it now.

A very classy and decent response. Notice how she did not mention her or the shows name.
Candidates in the November midterm ought to take heed.

So the real question is: how long before Rosanne becomes a right wing talk radio personality. It’s basically the only road left for her. That and Fox News pundit, which is pretty much the same thing.

Well… true in the entertainment world.

However, in Republican politics it is regional. In some areas you don’t get away with it. In others it is prerequisite to elected office.

I respectfully disagree Matt. If one didn’t realize this before late this AM, you most likely simply dug in your heels.

This will light up the right wing, with cries of censorship against anyone who isn’t a liberal. I hope that people respond that racism shouldn’t be defended anymore, it needs to be shut down, and ABC, as a private company, has the right to do whatever it wants in reaction to the racist behavior of one of its employees. I also hope that when the right wing starts to say that ABC can’t do this that the entire “the NFL is a private company and can tell the players what to do” gets shoved back in their faces.

You know what’s amazing about this? Barr and Jarrett actually look alike. (What is the meaning?)

Well, I continue to think there might be people who are struck by this and wonder how that non-wingnut boss might react if that office rival pointed out some of the no-harm-meant everyone-knows-I’m-not-a-racist stuff about Obama on their Facebook feeds. Big-name celebrities in our culture are about as high-status as it gets, and if Roseanne can get zapped it can happen to anyone. That’s a message for those who can hear.
