Discussion: USDA Reportedly Advised Employees To Avoid The Term 'Climate Change'

How come - after years of lamenting that if Obama would just use those magical three words: “Radical Islamist Terrorists” Isis would be defeated and terrorism would end. The problem was (cue onerous music) Obama just wouldn’t say those words. Trump uses those words - Isis is still horrific, and terrorism is still happening.

This all makes me think of that. “Extreme Weather” - descriptive but not suggesting any policy or reality of threat - does nothing. All of this effort to do NOTHING. It is not going to make the issue disappear or fix itself. It’s not even going to work to convince the majority of the public that knows it is real, that we are all wrong - all it really is is “Extreme Weather.” It is pathetic and dangerous.

Oh - and calling them “Freedom Fries” did not make France decide to join the “Coalition of the Willing” or - US invasion of Iraq. Same old GOP - just getting more outrageous at it each time we recycle them back into any form of power.

Then I’m sure you’ve seen this:

Edit: Where are all those poor white people who need the jobs being “stolen” by immigrants.

Stupid, clueless morons.

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed – if all records told the same tale – then the lie passed into history and became truth. GEORGE ORWELL’S 1984

Moebius-Clune also told staff to avoid the phrase “reduce greenhouse gases” and instead use “build soil organic matter” or “increase nutrient use efficiency,” per The Guardian.

Personally I like "Bring back lawn darts!" and "Run with scissors!"

Now that the evidence is obvious to anyone with an attention span longer than 2 minutes, global warming seems more accurate.

To honour Trump Correctness we should call climate change “Trump Melt :tm:” and greenhouse gases “Trump Farts :tm::dragon_face:

I think that they also want to convince themselves, or at least repress their knowledge. It’s awfully hard to look in the mirror every morning and think “This is the face of a person who is helping to destroy civilization as we know it, all for a buck. My grandchildren will curse when they hear me mentioned.”

Other words to avoid: Mueller, Acosta, Rosie, hands, ointment.

In a February email, an official at the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, Bianca Moebius-Clune, told employees to avoid referring to the “Earth as being round” and to employ the phrase “Bianca Moebius-Clune is a two-dimensional moron" instead, according to the report.

They would prefer “Job producing shoreline relocation”.

You see, because if you don’t talk about it, it won’t happen, right?

I love GOP and their magic words.

If you say “islamic terrorism” then terrorism is defeated.

If you don’t say “climate change”, then the problem disappears.

The Federal Government is being run by 3 year-olds.

The problem is that majority of 60+ million of idiots who voted for Trump don’t know what delta is either. So calling it climate delta will achieve Trump’s goal – stop truthful messaging on AGW.

Talk is cheap. Somehow I don’t think petroleum extractors, chemical and tractor manufacturers or the big industrial-scale farmers who depend on them, are meant to be fooled by subtle changes in messaging or web design.

Since some conservative Christian whites will experience hunger and starvation, it can’t be called laziness. It will be called “freedom choice diet”.

That is perfect, as it allows everyone to reset and destroy the Frank Luntz term and now we call all happily return to the original descriptor: Global Warming - of which the GOP don’t have an squishy talking point.

He also advised them to avoid the term “The earth is round.”

Hey, North Carolina did him one better. To protect coastal propertily values they proactively outlawed consideration of scientific findings into the effects of global warming on sea level increase.

Problem solved

Can’t say “climate change” any more? Yah?
Welp, how’s about…
Weather related differences
Or
Extended drought conditions
Or
Hurricane increase in strength
Or
Increased desertification in American corn belt
Or
Maybe just speaking truth to power.
