Discussion for article #225628
Israel is busy biting the hand the feeds them (and protect themselves).
We are witnessing Israeli nihilism, and they donât even recognize it.
Israel is no ally of the USâŚwhy are we supporting this terrorist, Apartheid nation? Why do we allow Israel to pull our strings after everything weâve done for her. Cut this albatross from our necks!
And the RW permawar crowd will cheer on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu loudly to make Kerry seem weak. They like Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the same reason they like Putin.
Israelâs only strategic goal in each of its seemingly interminable wars on Hamas and Hezbollah is to bring death and destruction. They have no larger political or security goal that is remotely discernible
When the FAA stopped flights to Ben Gurion, Israelis were reported to be âglumâ
I say we throw Israel into a deep depression with a boycott and AID suspension
Peace in week
Uh oh. Did Kerry not kowtow quickly enough?
Maxie, I think you know the answers to your questions.
This is a golden opportunity for a true friend of Israel to speak some hard truths.
Didnât think the old guy had it in him.
If this was any country besides Israel, the hawks would be demanding we roll tanks into Tel Aviv and JerusalemâŚ
Thank goodness our foreign policy is moving, at least a little bit, away from the Book of Esther.
Not holding my breath waiting though.
He had to prostrate himself in front of Israel to even get the job.
I donât think you quite understand the dynamicâŚit is Israel who pulls the strings. Kerry will be forced to submit to his masterâs will in the end and apologize to our âfriendâ Israel.
They actively discredit the Obama administration in an attempt to promote the GOP-- who will give them carte blanche to do anything they want. The sad truth is they can do anything they want already â but it should not be with our money or blessings.
âVery senior officials in Jerusalem described the proposal that Kerry put on the table as a âstrategic terrorist attackâ.â
What on Earth does that even mean?
Besides co-opting âterroristâ for a hyperbolic talking point, what about engaging two relatively moderate, Arab regional powers in the process constitutes a âterrorist attackâ?
Israel is one of the very few countries we have not bombed into the stone age for killing our men in uniform and blowing up one of our Navy ships - USS Liberty.
Take that as you will.
Donât insult my intelligence. The Israeli government could walk into the Oval Office and crap on the carpet and nothing would happen. Give me a break.
OK, I know this is wire service filler, and I donât expect much from AP but this story is particularly poorly written.
We are to believe the US is so upset over remarks made by a newspaper commentator - quoting the always popular unnamed âsenior officialâ - that it could jeopardize the US-Israel relationship? Why? Whereâs the quote of the âunusually harsh languageâ that the US reportedly used that the authors describe as âfumingâ?
You should check and see who owns the "news organizations that are criticizing Kerry. Are they owned by Mourdock(sp?)?
Look, pal! The Israelis are so angry they might just stop cashing the USAâs checks! What do you think of THAT?
Sure, and this quoted reporter/writer is on the mild side, others have been less kind.
(Note to Josh Marshall)
Someone needs to tell dollar sucking extremists in Israel, not to shit the bed.
