Discussion for article #235768
Maybe some people who won’t see the writing on the wall will see the writing in an encyclical. Unfortunately, many illiterates and aliterates will remain.
the pope writing an encyclical on man’s effect on climate change might confuse catholics? the last time i checked, saying what you know and believe is pretty much ok. i am not at all confused on this issue.
now if they want to confuse and mislead people, just have them tune in to fox news where absurdity and deception rule. or dial a republican politico who undoubtedly is not a scientist. or just ask the koch brothers.
Real is real and denying reality doesn’t make it any less real.
The deniers, AKA the teabaggers, racists, ignorants, AKA Faux entertainment watchers, are being called out from all sides.
Intelligence doesn’t wait for the fearful and/or hateful. Although it does get delayed by them. Its way past time to move on and tackle this global problem, climate change I mean, the ignorant are most likely here to stay unfortunately.
The skeptical Chicago-based Heartland Institute, a conservative think tank, sent a team to Rome urging the pope not to lend his moral authority to the U.N.'s climate agenda and warning that he would just be confusing Catholics by writing an encyclical about it.
I mean, you can’t expect the common rabble to be able to entertain the idea of a Pope urging people to do something that isn’t self-indulgent, right Heartland?
