Frankly, each of those things is far more respectable than Our Fearless Leaders.

Worst drag queen since Margaret Thatcher.

Now Theresa can spend all day on the couch in front of the telly making fun of immigrants and wondering how to catch wild animals in her back yard so she can have something to eat after Brexit kicks in…

You just know he’s itching to say it.

She honored herself. In the absence of actual evidence, it is all about the feeling.

Putin just can’t stop laughing at the way this is all working out.

Trumps megalomania is destroying the US while Mays incompetance has destroyed the UK, and Orban and Conte and their ilk’s Fascism is busy destroying the EU.

After Modi demagogues India into a massively destructive religious war with Pakistan while Saudi Arabia’s Prince Bin Salman and Netenyahu finally get their war with Shiite Iran, only Russia and China will be left standing, as planned all along.

As Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Lennin) said: “'The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them…”

I have made a note to check the rapture index if Boris becomes PM.

I remember clearly working for a company where almost everyone was complaining about a particular boss. (Many of the complaints were valid, but at the higher levels, a truly good boss is a great rarity. For the most part, I could deal with his flaws.) When he resigned, to take a higher position in another company, there was lots of “thank goodness, now we will get someone better.” I replied that we might or might not get someone better, and was promptly derided as being negative. When we did get a new boss, he was magnitudes worse, and although almost everyone recognized the fact, not one person apologized to me.

I really do feel sorry for many of the people of Great Britain, but they have a Parliament that is toying with economic and social disaster by going ahead with a plan that was the result of a non-binding resolution. Just like the GOP, the Tories and the Brexiteers just love to see things burn. And I hope they pay dearly for it.

So I take it your co-workers were all Republicans?

Some yes, some no. What they all were was human, and this is a common thing among humans.

They were presented two options and voluntarily chose the one that has them in the position they’re in now. Eff 'em.

I wonder if the BBC will sends reporters to the pubs in order to interview the poor, oppressed, economically disenfranchised and economic anxiety-ridden white people who only voted for Brexit because they can’t stand the idea of brown people being in their country?

Personally I think the species should go a couple generations abstaining from procreation. The planet and all the life on it would benefit greatly.

Like the Iraq war drum-beaters to the war protesters- “Ok, you were mostly right, but for the wrong reasons.”

Can’t argue with that sentiment, Stevie!

And Atrios over at Ecshaton.com keeps making the same point: The Tories keep thinking that the EU is sweating bullets over GB leaving due to Brexit, but in reality the EU is basically saying

I was no happier at the outcome than anyone else, of course. The difference is that they were predicting what they wanted to happen, and I was predicting what I expected might actually happen even though I did not want it to happen. (I also understood who would be picking that new boss.)

So the question becomes, is this the beginning of the end for Brexit, with a quick call for general elections and the opportunity to sweep in an anti-Brexit gov’t…

Or does someone like Boris end up with the reins and just drive them straight off a no-deal cliff…

I’ll say the same thing to the people of Great Britain that I say to the farmers of America who rallied to Trump and the seniors who now see that Trump and the GOP are a threat to their Medicare and Social Security:

“People who keep voting against their own self-interests eventually vote themselves out of existence.”
