Discussion: Udall Hits Gardner On Women's Issues In First Senate Debate

Discussion for article #227342

Gardner is anti-women and has been for years sponsoring Personhood bills on a continuing basis and is OWNED by the Kock Bros and ALEC…He is a despicable liar and the darling of the rabid Tbaggers who can not win in State except for the rual voters!

A dog fight to the end but Udall should pull this out…Obma is not disliked as much as the vile gop bags would like to believe!

docb, I hope you are right. I have to admit I have s sinking feeling about the elections nationwide this year. FiveThirtyEight does not agree with your assessment. They give Gardner only a small edge, but still an edge.

(edited for accuracy)

Definite AP article – ignoring Udall, loving Gardner, and ignoring what an empty suit he is.

It’s all down to GOTV! Whatever structure Obama used to GOTV needs to be applied to the midterms.

“…Barack Obama and Mark Udall have put tremendous pressure on this country…”

So Congressional Republicans took a long vacation. It’s that important to them.

I live in western Colorado(Rifle) and I listen to people bash Obama every day. They bash the ACA on their way to the doc visit and put signs in their shops blaming Obama for virtually everything.I knew one shop owner who solicited donations Because our president took away his house in 2008(true story).I swear these people will blame Obama for the chickenpox they got in 1973 and rail against the welfare state on their way to pick up their foodstamps.I am amazed how many locals here vote against their own best interests and NEVER give our President any credit for anything. Please vote and vote Democrat

This BS about over the counter birth control is not going to fly.

How about no insurance coverage for viagra and make that over the counter so men have to pay for it out of pocket?

Gardner is a walking talking lie. Some people want to hear his lies, most other people just recognize him as the liar and woman basher that he is.

Bull, gardner is lying!!

He is and has always been a genuflector of the "personhood amendment!

Do not believe the lies he’s spewing now about being pro women’s health!! It’s all LIES!

Gardner has been a small-minded Bagger from the beginning. Now he is desperately shaking the Etch-a-Sketch to present himself as a moderate. In the end he is nothing but a Koch-sucker and a lackey for the party of no and no ideas.

Our best hope is the population growth among young people and Latinos in the urban areas. The Udall ads have been great in highlighting Gardner’s anti-woman agenda for many years. A new Romanoff ad bashes Coffman for the same agenda for 25+ years. Now we need to see ads pointing out that Gardner-Coffman-Beaupreuz are interchangeable with regard to women’s rights. I hope those ads and the no-on-67 (personhood) campaign help improve turn-out among the younger women who would suffer most under those guys.

Blaming the President for everything reminds me of that ad with the young blonde woman (Auriel?) who said she had to go back to work because of the ACA. Turns out she went back to work in 2008 before the President was elected. Her husband couldn’t get insurance before because he had a pre-existing condition. And she works for a big energy company that funds Gardner!

That over-the-counter line is being used by Republicans in several states. They refuse to say whether they think insurance should still pay for it. Pills can cost up to $60 a month, which is tough for many women who are eager to plan their families. Gardner claims pills would be cheaper over the counter. How so? There’s plenty of competition among prescription pills as well as generics to help drive down the cost. And does Gardner think pharmacists should install IUDs and measure for diaphragms, too?

That is almost word for word what the rep candidate for the Senate said in the debate here in NC. Exact same blabber.
