Discussion: U.S. Flies War Planes Near Border To Showcase Strength

Is this article launching a new version of April Fools Day?

Yep. Very misleading. And why a picture of a 40s era Navy Corsair?

We are digging up Pappy Boyington and sending him in. Alright!

Maybe it was cheaper to use an image of a Corsair rather than a B1B.
Wait… didn’t GHWB fly Corsairs in WWII? You don’t suppose…

Corsair, for sure. Check the bend in the wings next to the fuselage…

Baron von Richthofen wasn’t available?

Definitely a Corsair. I am 100% sure. I’d like to see us fly one of those over North Korea. They’d really think we were crazy then…

He flew a type of dive bomber is I remember correctly. Not a fighter.

Is this a joke? It is not April 1st.

The Sopwith Camel was in the hangar for repairs ?

Which got me to thinking. Would a WWI era aircraft be insubstantial enough to not be noticed by modern tech?

80% wood and cloth. Hmmm

Definitely symbolic as well, they had time in during the Korean War.

I’m sure a Corsair would be effing loud. That’ll show 'em.

Geography-challenged 20-something headline writer on duty, I suspect.

Nothing in this article says they flew over North Korea. It would be war if they did, right?

This picture is pathetic. I mean, a WWII Navy Corsair fighter is provided to illustrate that "The U.S. military flew advanced bombers and stealth jets over the Korean Peninsula and near Japan"

The aircraft depicted was in its prime in the Pacific in 1943-1945.

Fix this!! :astonished: Otherwise any conservative visiting TPM and seeing this will think ā€œTypical libtard, don’t know nothin’ about defending Murricaā€ etc.

And how about a spell check? Ah, ā€œPlanesā€ not ā€œPlans.ā€ :sob:

Some journalistic professionalism, please?

Oh goodie…the US flexing its military muscle. How many more times do we as a nation need to keep looking for more wars? There is a threat to global peace - it’s called the United States! How many times will take to figure out sending in the military never works…the days of WW II are long gone.

If the military was so great, then why are those missiles flying right over Japan? Where are all those billion dollar missile defense systems? I thought Raytheon’s Patriot missile defense system was some great billion dollar weapons system. The American tax payer has been getting fleeced…by the defense industry establishment and the generals. The most expensive military money can buy…the US spends more on its military than the rest of the world combined. And we’re being led by a 10 year old racist in the White House. Amazing.
