Discussion: Two Kavanaugh Allies Withdraw From Statement Disputing New Yorker Allegation

I guess that explains McConnell’s pathetic performance today.

So, she is now admitting that she didn’t see it because she wasn’t actually there? I would be interested in hearing her say why she said it in the first place when she knew that it wasn’t true. Could it be that she was just lying to protect Kavanaugh, for money or being close to power?

I’m thinking either they did know something after all, or perhaps gave heard from other friends who did and realized that they were putting themselves out there wihen their legs were about to be cut out from under them.

Exactly why there needs to be an FBI investigation. People think twice when there is the possibility of actual consequences from making something up. The fact that Dr. Blasey Ford wants an investigation, and Kavanaugh and his buddies don’t is very telling.

Kavanaugh’s nomination is snowballing into one of the greatest PR clusterfucks the Republicans have inflicted on themselves in more than a decade. It’s a totally self-inflicted wound that they keep digging into and pouring raw sewage on. Between this and today’s Rosenstein debacle, it’s a wonder if there will be any Republicans left in the House after November.

I guess the comparison with Dahmer makes sense if one realizes that sexual abuse victims are eaten from the inside of their minds and bodies.

I looked her up today. Met him in the Bush White House. He was 39ish when he married her.

Lots of awful behavior before she made him a good man. :smirk:

‘Yeah she’s a good hearted woman in love with a good timin’ man. She loves him in spite of his wicked ways she don’t understand. With teardrops and laughter they leave the political stage hand in hand…’

I hope so. I weep for their daughters.

And the real thing is that it’s pretty obvious he was a partier. Even if people didn’t witness these specific accounts, they know he was a partier. That’s why the FBI does these background investigations - to be sure people can’t be compromised / blackmailed about their conduct. He’s already compromised enough that his name should be removed from consideration. What’s weirder is the GOP’s insistence on not finding someone else. It’s not the first time a name was withdrawn. A lot of commenters have said there are another 10 dudes out there with his views, why not one of them instead?

And John Wayne Gacy was a wonderful neighbor. Never played loud music or held disorderly parties. Kept his lawn nice. Kept up the local property values.

  1. They want him seated NOW (I think the ship sailed on that one)
  2. Of all the other candidates, Brett is already bought and paid for

Lesson: A good bad judge is hard to find

(Sincere apologies offered in advance.)

To be fair, Jeffrey’s neighbors only knew he worked at a chocolate factory; not as a chef de cuisine specializing in a limited number of International dishes.

One of my favorite comments by someone is that Kavie has more skeletons than a cemetery.

Good grief. And I keep remembering that McConnell did not want him to be the nominee.

History will not be kind to McConnell.

Yeah I love all of McConnell’s insistence that they’re going to put Kav on the court and it’s all smears when we know he tried to talk Shroom out of nominating him.

Fuck history, the present needs to step up.

O word. Well losing the Senate would really upset Yertle more than almost anything else I can think of.

Let’s make it so.

Amen.

BTW, my sister in my hometown called today to tell me that the parish priest has been put on leave for you-know-what. We had moved by the time he came to the parish, but he had had at least one leave of absence. It was said he had a drinking problem.

I’ll bet.

Holy shit. Kavanaugh said in that Fox interview that he was a virgin through high school.
