If you go to fight in a foreign military for that country, I would say you stop being an American.
Conversely, if you come and enlist in the US armed forces, I would say you should be granted citizenship.

Israel first, America second or third…who knows. This country has put Israel’s needs before our own for too long. Enough already, cut this albatross from our necks…we’ve given enough.

Sheldon Adelson is the greedy old right winger who bankrolls Birthright Israel. Their mission is to propagandize impressionable young people – enticing them with a free trip to Israel. This is the result. American kid becomes a sniper in a foreign war. My family lives in same area as the Steinbergs – and its no joke. Every jewish american kid is targeted. My nieces were both thinking “Heh, its a free trip!” until I told my sister what Birthright was about. Thankfully, the girls aren’t going now – but their friends are.

My condolences to the families of these two. But their pain must be all the harder to bear since they encouraged their sons to become thugs for a foreign country.
The sad thing is, I don’t imagine that it’s a conscious bias, and that bias certainly isn’t limited to TPM.
