Best news I’ve read yet today.

Queue John McCain to call for the immediate BOMBING of ISTANBUL in response to “foreigners not having the proper RESPECT for American Sailors”.
Later in the day someone will tell Gumpy Gramps that Turkey is a NATO member and they can’t do that.
He will then mumble something about “Muslims” and then slap Lindsey Graham and demand he get the car.
Then wander away.

Yes, Turkey is an NATO member, but generally fails in it’s responsibilities as one. While I applauded Turkey resisting US entries to allow us into NW Iraq at the beginning of the Iraq War, they may regret their hands-off approach to what is happening in Syria and Iraq now, regardless of what precipitated it.

I am sure the business owners in the community don’t want any of the sailors to spend their money. You will probably read stories in the next few days of Turkish authorities cracking down on this group. They have their photographs .
