“The Turks have been talking more to the media than they have us,” Corker said of the NATO ally.
Well, DUH. There is no point at all in trying to get the GOPutin to do anything TrumPutin doesn’t like.
Talk turkey, Turkey!
Don’t worry Saudis… our president has got your back no matter what you do.
And the Russians. And North Korea. And any filthy, vile, murderous government that kisses his ass.
Erdogan has the Saudi’s over a barrel. It is amazing how incompetent the Prince and his enablers have proven to be. This makes them look bad coming and going. I wouldn’t be surprised if a palace coup were to take place.
Kudos to the Saudi Government for providing us with the “alternative facts”!
If they know they have something to announce, why Tuesday instead of Monday? More time for bidders?
Over and over again.
Bob Corker is big on words, but talk is cheap. What will he do?
Let there be no doubt if Erdogan could get his hands on Fethullah Gülen, he would meet a similar fate. Erdogan may be sticking it to the Saudis, but he’s far from a good guy.
I’m sure the report from Turkey will back up the official Saudi report 100%.
A fistfight broke out in the Saudi Consulate after Jamal Khashoggi viciously attacked the 15 men who flew there from SA just to help him with his paperwork. (MBS was so touched when he heard about Khasoggi’s upcoming marriage that he sent his top aids all the way to Turkey just to help him out).
Anyway, after Khasoggi vicously attacked these poor innocent Saudi aids (for no reason, mind you) they were forced to subdue him with a bone saw and calming music. An accident occurred (either with the music or the bone saw, I’m not sure which) and Khasoggi ended up dead. It was a terrible accident… terrible, I say, but accidents happen when reporters vicously attack 15 innocent men who are just trying to help him with paperwork.
The body was brought back to MBS so that the prince could properly mourn this terrible, terrible accident that was entirely the result of a crazy reporter losing his cool. Also, in order to properly honor Khasoggi, MSB insisted on having the body stuffed and displayed hanging from a wall in one of the rooms of his palace. That is, after all, one of the highest honers a Saudi prince can bestow upon a person, an honor reserved for only the dearest of friends to the Saudi Royal family.
So, in conclusion, this was merely a tragic accident caused by a misunderstanding, but MSB is honoring this poor man (who was, after all a dear friend) in the kindest way he knows. Nothing more needs to be said on the matter if you ask me.
Why is Turkey giving Saudi Arabia such a hard time, they both being of the same ilk? My take is that Putin is bending Erdogan’s ear, they being new best buddies since Russia’s involvement in Syria. Putin’s goal is to damage the USA relationship with Saudi Arabia to the advantage of Russia’s alliance with Iran.
I see that the Saudis are now saying that the killing was a mistake! It’s like that line from Jamie Brockett’s ballad: When the guy entered Turkey he was asked, “A bone saw! whadaya got that for?” The first mate he says … “I just carry it.”
The cheaper the crook the gaudier the patter.
Erdogen (himself a really vile character) was just waiting for the Saudi’s to commit themselves to a story, then he drops the surveillance tapes of the Saudis talking about dismembering the body. At that point what little room the Saudis had, goes away. The only alternative, and it may not be enough, is for MBS to pay an 10 figure sum to Turkey, and that may not be enough, Qatar will probably pay that sum more just to see the backside of MBS.
Long time anger on the part of Erdogan, over the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Syria, and now he is allied and has troops in Qatar. Revenge is a disk that is best served dripping blood in the middle east.
I think the real question is if MBS remains the crown prince, or his father is forced to cut bait. MBS has made a lot of enemies, who would love to see him jailed.
“Why did these 15 people come here? Why were 18 people arrested? All of this needs to be explained in all its details,” Erdogan said.
Something tells me Erdogan will not be using talking points approved by Mike Pompeo and Cheeto Mussolini.
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Fox News that Khashoggi’s killing was “a rogue operation” and that “we don’t know where the body is.'”
“The individuals who did this did this outside the scope of their authority,” he said. “There obviously was a tremendous mistake made and what compounded the mistake was the attempt to try to cover up. That is unacceptable to the government.”
“The Turks have been talking more to the media than they have us,” Corker said of the NATO ally.
Sovereignty and the Turks are backing Qatar.
…and lines his pockets.
Trump will sign an executive order banning all Americans from having turkey for Thanksgiving.
