I asked if he was confusing her with Duckworth, but no he assured me that he meant Gabbard and that she was only really conservative on guns and has a record like Bernieā€™s and thatā€™s why she should be our nomineeā€¦ I politely excused myself at that point.

Maybe he confused her with Gillibrand, which would make sense. Last name starts with a G, has a similar constituency. Her name has been tossed around lately as a promising contender.

Who appears ready and willing to sell out her alleged progressive principles for a seat at the Trump table. Someone needs to primary this complete waste of space, now.

You could run a traffic cone under the Dem banner against her and it would get elected in Hawaii.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders in his bid to become President of the United States this morning on ā€œMeet the Press.ā€ She also resigned as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Just last month, she said she couldnā€™t take sides due to her position with the DNC.

Gabbard specifically pointed to Sandersā€™ position on military intervention as part of her endorsement reasoning.

"As a veteran, as a soldier, I've seen firsthand the true cost of war. ā€¦ As we look at our choices as to who our next Commander-in-chief will be is to recognize the necessity to have a Commander-in-chief who has foresight. Who exercises good judgment. Who looks beyond the consequences -- who looks at the consequences of the actions that they are willing to take before they take those actions. So that we don't continue to find ourselves in these failures that have resulted in chaos in the Middle East and so much loss of life," Gabbard said.

You do realize she was one of the earliest and most loyal Sanders supporters during the primary? I point that out because he has tried to elervate her stature within the party. Iā€™m not at all interested in mass purges of everyone who doesnā€™t pass some purity test. Thatā€™s just stupid. Iā€™d rather have 7 more Joe Manchins and control the Senate right now.
We should, however, purge those few who arenā€™t merely Blue Dogs, but those who openly oppose many Democratic principles AND, most importantly, are sitting in safe Democratic districts.

That was my first thought - what the hell is this woman doing? Assad is also not our ally, which is of course stating the obvious and putting it mildly.

She appears to be another Putin ally. So one wonders - how many Russian moles, agents and sympathizers are in our government?
