Discussion: Tucker Carlson: I Want To See 'SNL' Make Fun Of Transgender Bathrooms

Discussion for article #233835

Because in right-wing “humor” mocking the powerless is the same as satirizing the powerful.

I wonder if lil’ Tuck’s mom still has to remind him to wear his underwear UNDER his clothes…

"Carlson went on to bemoan that “you will never, ever see that.”

Why? I’m not understanding Carlson’s “rationalizing” (such as it is) on this unless he’s implying that humor (dominated by LIBERALS) is too politically correct? It just seems like a stupid, inept analogy.

I’ll bet you do, I’ll bet you do. (Nudge, Nudge, Grin, Grin, Wink, Wink, Say No More!)

Carlson clearly has the memory of a gnat. SNL did lots of transgender/unigender comedy around the character of Pat (Julia Sweeney), circa 1990–1994. And, as usual, they milked it past its expiration date and retired it when there was no fresh humor available. Ergo, SNL was about 20 years ahead of Carslon. They have a history of making fun of bowtie-wearing dweebs, too.

You know, if you don’t count the times SNL makes fun of Obama and other left-leaning politicians and causes, it never makes fun of left-wing politics.

One of my earliest SNL memories, a future Senator playing a then-current one:

Pat Schroeder: Senator Simon… why the bow tie?

Paul Simon: Pat… my advisorrrs… have been begging me for
yearrrs… to get rid of the bow tieee. But with Paul Simon, what you
seeee is what you get… and I’m not about to chage my bow tieee to
please some media advisorrr. And sooo… I wearrr… the bow tieee. And I
think the American people want a president who’s not afraid to say, “I
am who I ammm… bow tieee and all.” [ timer sounds ] Uh… may I finish?
[ Pat nods ] So that’s why I wearrr… the bow tieee. Thank you.

There are many things I wish to see regarding Carlson…but I doubt they’ll ever happen.

“I would love to see an SNL sketch like making fun of transgender bathrooms”

Honestly, I would too. Of course, I can think of 100 ways to make it fucking hilarious without it being demeaning or offensive in the way these bigots intend.

Hey…maybe Tucker Bowtie can start up a new venture in comedy if he’s so concerned that American humor isn’t bigoted enough with rightwing memes. Maybe he can use Dennis Miller as the host because that went so well the last time…

For his part, he called the “SNL” segment “kind of funny.”

Still a douche.

Carlson doesn’t understand comedy. It’s funnier to go after people with power. Transpeople really don’t have any power, and if SNL would do such, Carlson would be at the butt of the joke.

You have to be a fundamentally horrible person to think mocking transgender people is funny. As if such folks hadn’t faced years of bullying and mockery already.

You have your own show Tucker. Go for it dude, I’m sure that it will be hilarious!

I want to see TC’s head get flushed in a transgender bathroom…that might be good for a few laughs as well…

Ummm…Tucker, remember what happened the last time you offered a suggestion to a comedian? I’m not positive but it sure looks like you got the show canceled and your ass kicked .

I’ts just a thought but you really should leave the comedians alone.
