Discussion: Trump's 'Son Of A Bitch' Insult Strikes Nerve With NFL Players

I think the ‘SOB’ comment was what really galvanized the League (as opposed to the players). They couldn’t let that go.

What DJT doesn’t understand is the the players are the product. This is not lost on the League.

It will be interesting to see if any Penguins sit out their White House visit.

If Trump does anything to honor Martin Luther King Jr. next January I am going to puke.

All the people who want to force football players to stand for the national anthem should STFU on MLK day when we honor the greatest non-violent protester in our history.

Looks like trump found the one thing that unites us all. No person – of any race, any gender, any nationality, any economic class, or any sexual orientation – appreciates having her or his mother referred to as a bi***.

And he thinks this is a winning issue for him

Maybe only the foreign players will show up? That would be sweet!

This is interesting, supposedly players didn’t have to be on field during National anthem till 2009

With his true base, it probably is. To paraphrase what @crewman6 said here yesterday, too many people confuse the symbols of freedom with actual freedom.

(Crewman6: “True patriots do not confuse the symbols of freedom for actual freedom.”)

Kaepernick’s mom, Teresa Kaepernick, was quick to respond: “Guess that makes me a proud bitch!”

Having the President of the United States stand up in public and call another American a son of a bitch is so beyond anything we’ve ever seen another president do - it’s disgusting, it’s wrong and I’m sick of this stupid fucked up excuse for a presidency.

The asshole in chief would be about 10,000 times happier if he’d quit and start his own propganda network where everyone would praise him constantly.

Personally, I think any elected son of a bitch who refuses to release his tax returns to the public should be fired.

I’m surprised Donald had any time to talk about anthem respect when so much was happening in Puerto Rico…

This is just another faux pas by the Asshole-elect, who was trying to appeal to the knuckle draggers who elected him and are his base.

Personally I hope there is a dark alley inhabited with NFL players in his future. Remember, this is a man who dodged the draft with a fake medical certification. Challenged by the average NFL player he would surely shit himself, being the coward he is. Sad.

The NHL is probably the single most international sports league operating in the US from the standpoint of player personnel. Trump’s popularity in Canada, Sweden and the Czech Republic is basically zero, so a good portion of those players would be just as happy to sit it out, even if they’re otherwise apolitical on most matters. Even in Russia his popularity has plummeted since he was elected (or so it’s believed – Putin shut down the last remaining semi-reputable public polling agency in Russia about a year ago). Even if the American players are all die-hard Trumpers (which obviously can’t be the case), it’s still reasonable to assume half the team would rather be elsewhere. It wouldn’t shock me if this one gets cancelled

And Trump’s white supremacist RoboCops in St. Louis have struck a nerve with all citizens who venture out on the streets. They round up whites and blacks along with the protestors even if you are home owner watering the lawn, career military on leave getting a drink at the local bar or even if you just happen to be walking a dog.

They are rounding up American citizens like the troops sweeping the streets in Mosul. “We own the streets!” the acting Police Chief cries. Isn’t that what the Nazis said?

“It just amazes me with everything else going on in this world, especially involving the U.S., that’s what you’re concerned about, my man? You’re the leader of the free world and this is what you’re talking about?” said Dolphins safety Michael Thomas. “So, as a man, as a father, as an African-American man, as somebody in the NFL and one of those ‘sons of bitches,’ yeah, I took it personally.”

Let’s replace Trump with this guy!

It might be.

Would you accept an invite from Kim? Pretty much the same thing.

Yes. Moms are by nature pretty amazing. Kaepernick’s is no exception.
