Discussion: Trump's New DC Hotel Vandalized With Black Lives Matter Graffiti

The Trump Organization won a 60-year lease from the federal government to transform the historic Old Post Office building on Pennsylvania Avenue into a hotel.

Hope the government got an air-tight lease. We know how HO breaks contracts.

Okay, as much as I despise HO, I am absolutely not in favor of vandalizing property. This was wrong.

A lot of people are saying that this vandalism was done by GOP operatives, in order to make BLM look bad.
Mind you, I’m not saying this, but a lot of people are.
And this makes me concerned.

Yea really, I’m hoping it was done by some white folks trying to make BLM look bad. Can’t believe they don’t have surveillance video.(saw maxaroo’s similar post after writing mine)

I know vandalism is so horrible, what’s next destroying almost a couple million in tea by dumping it in a harbor somewhere?

There is video taken by a citizen of a black man painting the graffiti and then walking away down Pennsylvania Ave.
I certainly hope they can clean it off. This is an historic building, 1890s, and quite beautiful.

Wow. If Security is so bad at his hotels that vandals can graffiti the from entrance, Can we really trust him to build a graffiti-less wall?

I suspect this is only the beginning of this type of misdemeanor. People are saying this will probably happen all over the world at Drumph properties. Not me, just “people are saying”.

I think my grandmother used to call this “taking one step forward and then two backwards”. Who in BLM would think this advances their cause? If BLM did it. It’s a stupid self destructive thing to do. Like putting “Kill White People” right next to other BLM graffiti.

We’re not that stupid are we? My Grandmother also used to say “if its too good to be true it probably isn’t”. This is near perfect for the anti-BLM folks. Too good to be true.

Trump is urging future vandals to use really high end spray paint next time. Hotel executives are saying the materials these, possibly angry gourmet chefs, utilized were not up to Mr. Trump’s vandalism standards.

No comment by Black Lives Matter.

This is one of the reasons not having a solid group structure, leadership and organizational team hurts a “movement”.

This very well could be the work of someone trying to make BLM look bad. But that’s why you need a communications team to disavow this kind of action and say it is just petty and actually disrespectful of what BLM is trying to achieve.

Get used to it, Donald. The blowback on you and your businesses won’t suddenly cease after 11/8. People will remember who you are and what you have said.

I don’t support vandalism, but I’m not going to pretend to have sympathy for Trump.

Some civil war graves were recently painted on in Raleigh and it was going to be quite expensive to fix.
