Well he really done it YOU now, his fellow Republicans. You’re in the hot seat NOW, squirming is putting it mildly. He really knows how to put the screws to everyone and he just walks away…he’ll NEVER feel the burn. He’s to insulated by himself, his self-love is overwhelming. WOE, unto you if you mess with his ;jugger
naut’ Defense Dept coffers.
Donald and his people hate anyone w/o a silver spoon stuck up their butt.
Trump wants the war chest and all it’s gold to do what he wants when he wants. When he’s at his rallies he thinks in terms of entertaining YA’ALL.
Based on Trumpp’s business history and the way he appears to think, I would conclude that he created a budget where a lot of people will be asking for increases, and he will be asking them to give/do something in return. However, I don’t think Trumpp currently has enough power over Congress that they feel obligated to buy his blessings for individual items in the budget.
So, I believe that Trumpp’s administration is producing a budget primarily for talking points:
– I made the biggest cuts in history to job killing agencies and I used that money to rebuild our military (neglected under Obama, natch)
– I’m not happy with the deficit number. I listened to you and made the cuts we needed, but Congress listened to special interests and added back spending like you wouldn’t believe.
– and so on.
Drumpf CA not be bothered to appoint cabinet and agency positions but he can put in Brown shirt snitches and enforcers,
What a bloody fool and paranoid old ugly child male this imposter is…crook, liar, misogynist, and pervert…
Call congress to scap the who mess heatlhcare us welfare for the wealthy and sticks it to the most vulnerable… and his budget is little man wants big toys and for the poor to pay and die for it…
The GOP will always find some issue to run against. I think Trump showed them how much the immigration issue can be exploited.
If Trump manages to deport a million or more illegals and keep some out with his “wall” … I fail to see how that will improve the lives of Trump supporters. He has convinced them that they will get better jobs without the illegals and that they are to blame for their poverty. Immigration is the single biggest reason he won. He did that by putting a target on all immigrants, both legal and illegal. There was a story in the Washington Post yesterday about a 59 year old white Trump supporter. She drives school bus and most of the children she picks up are children of illegals. She is very resentful of them. Hell, if they were not there, she would not have a job and the community might lose the school.
She started out her interview saying “they don’t belong here”. Wrong lady, Texas was Mexico before it was the US and they also had an illegal immigration problem with people who looked like her. They even went so far as to impose a ban on illegal immigrants in 1830: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/14/us/when-americans-were-illegal-immigrants-in-mexico.html
She chose to move to a smaller town in order to have a country home to raise her dogs. Then she hears Trump talk about illegals and all of a sudden they are why she is poor and has no health insurance. She complained her “tax dollars” supported illegals when we all know a 59 year old woman who works part time driving a school bus is not paying any federal taxes. Texas does not have a state tax. I’m betting those illegals are paying the same, if not more taxes than her. The only difference is, they will never collect SS or Medicare that they are paying into for folks like her. She came from a well off middle class family with ample opportunity for education, even after her divorce at age 24. She married at 19 and had two children. Remember that WP story about a black woman who left the coal town where she was born in W Virginia? Well, she got an education a short distance away, returned as a nurse practitioner. She got her education while being a single mother out of necessity. No reason our Trump supporter could not have done the same. Rather than blame themselves, they will blame others for their lot in life.
Comstock is closer to Trump than a tick is to a deer. She needs to be beaten in 2018. Her district went for Hillary Clinton. The campaign to beat her has aready begun.
This is how to separate ideologues from representatives. Ideologues will loudly and proudly cut the funding that directly benefits their own constituents. Representatives will hypocritically and proudly cut other people’s funding but fight tooth and nail for their own.
If only there were a reliable way to target the cuts to ideologues’ districts.
A bit more digging and Carole Cadwalladr at the Guardian has been on this issue of creating right-wing internet environments tuned to drive people to such information. Quite inventive and suggests Bannon is not really the brains behind Trump, but Robert Mercer.
I am perfectly fine with de-funding the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). It may not be needed anymore with all the jobs Trump is going to create in the area. But even if Trump (god forbid) lied to them, then they should suffer consequences of their votes. When they start voting for people who believe in sustainability and environment preservation, maybe we can do something to help them. Meanwhile they can keep on defending their rapacious bossed and going to their snake handling rituals.
I see Bannon’s greasy fingerprints all over this mess of a budget proposal. He is a clever little Nazi, but I think he may have overreached on this and Trumpcare. I’m cautiously optimistic. Meanwhile, Mr. Comey is gainsaying Trumppolini on his ridiculous wiretapping tweets. I think it’s going to be a pretty good day.
I am still waiting for some patriotic general (or colonel or lieutenant or corporal ), to come out against increasing the military budget at the expense weakening domestic safety net.
Huh? None? May it because military types are no patriots, they are just another special interest?
Hell, I’m just a nail pounder turned contractor/businessman and I learned this all by myself.
It’s like the perpetual, SALE!, sign at the lady’s clothing shops. If they think they’re getting a deal, they buy, even though many products were just marked up 50% before being dropped 40%.
How in the hell after having a president fuckup like Bush, then getting a president fit it like Obama, do so many folks vote for an even worse president like Donald? Granted I know it wasn’t a majority. but even with our fucked up EC, I don’t know how Hillary didn’t win with twice as many votes instead of just 3 million. Man I hate to admit it, but I hope a lot of old white men die off before the next election, even if it includes some like me, an old white male democrat. My race and gender have fucked things up for long enough.
He brought us O-care did he not and that was the impossible task supposedly. HillaryCare failed and no one else would even try.
Barack may have been perceived as starting in the middle but he was wise enough to know what could be done in reality not dreamworld.
You have to try real hard not to see the extensive list of accomplishments that President Obama made.
Sometimes you have to stop and reflect and appreciate what you’ve got instead of always asking for more.
You know, smell the roses.
This budget like thing isn’t based on anything other than hurting liberals and funding the GOP’s biggest donors.
There is zero balance or sense of need, just take away from perceived Democratic supporters and give to those that give back to the Republican Party.
This isn’t a budget, it’s an up yours to the left and a please re-elect me because I give you money, to the right.
Taking care of our own is not free, neither is taking care of the world around us but we can afford it many times over if we actually did ‘budget’.
Pouring more money into the military is so ridiculous that it isn’t even worth arguing about. We already have a bigger military than our planet requires.
