The Trump campaign did not immediately return TPM’s request for additional comment Wednesday.

Still working on the spin …

Good thing the campaign hasn’t started yet…I smell a pivot.

Meanwhile, his campaign said that what Trump actually meant to say was that Russia, if they have the emails, should turn them over to the FBI for investigation.

I’m sure a single press conference by Omarosa would quickly clarify these critical foreign-policy questions.

If Russia was conducting an investigation of a politician does the GOP actually think the U.S. government would or should forward internal documents our intelligence services likely gained through less than legal means to the Russian security services?
If Russia has the e-mails our country is supposed to solicit them for an FBI operation, regardless the methods Russia used to purloin them? And Russia, wanting to meddle but not admit to hacking just says “Here, we found these in an ash can in Minsk.”

WTF?

Ah, the “just joking” defense. The favored excuse of all 13 year old boys caught saying something they shouldn’t.

I’m not sure what the Russians thought they were buying in Trump, but they likely want their money back, pronto.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich ® questioned whether Trump’s taunt was so much a national security issue as a “joke:”

So, Trump’s presidential campaign is just a stand-up comedy routine? Thanks for the clarification, Newt, but I think a lot of us already realized that.

That’s exactly right.

“Since Hillary promised us she only deleted 33,000 personal emails how can it be a national security issue if someone releases them?”

No you moron, your side has claimed some of those emails contain classified information, so asking Russia or anyone else to release them would be a huge national security breach. You don’t get to have it both ways, jackass!

“Will no one rid me of my meddlesome opponent?”

What? He was just criticizing her bodyguards, who can’t seem to protect her from foreigners who are trying to get rid of her.

That about sums up everything about the Trump Campaign.

When I think about what used to get a candidate disqualified…

I seriously don’t know what to say anymore…

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you can find the 33,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press,”

We have to go easy on Trump. In Russian the word for “FBI” is very close to the word for “press.” It’s not hard to confuse the two.

I feel sorry for Trump’s people (kids). It must be impossible to pull him away from the TV during the Democratic Convention…
