“Earth Abides” is probably the granddaddy of this genre. Also “When World’s Collide,” a novel that become a movie. The movies has some imaginative set design when the WASPish survivors step out onto the new planet. The draw of this literature probably has something to do with growing up in the Cold War.

But that Bannon (as one who has so carefully shielded himself personally from additional financial outlay by careful coordination with an ex-- would allow his ego to expose the machinations publicly (and possible legal scrutiny) by joining the losing proposition that is Trump’s band of malingerers, felons, and miscreants) made a losing bet.
While you (likely) and I view Breitbart through the clearest of lenses-- there is a swath of Americans who thought it a mainstream political site. He’s also dragged its’ brand into the cockroach-spotlight of alt-right scrutiny. As days go by? More and more RWers will be deleting it from their browser favorites-- because, Trump.
Whether it’s now-- or months from now-- Bannon will eventually realize–
he’s screwed himself by lampreying himself to Trump.

Trump had best hurry, cuz in hour two, the federal agents will be coming to take him away for conspiring with the enemy and then the tax man will take their shot followed by federal elections officials.
In reality, all of the above will happen except Not President Trump deporting anything, except maybe his illegally immigrated Soviet wife.
Trump; defeated, divorced, detained…that’s the real first hour scenario.

Well, I think his speaking style resembles one of her attack schpiels about someone like Yoko Ono or whoever she decided she did not like and was going to rag on. This is how he thinks and speaks.

So is he going to wave a magic wand to make that happen, or does he think that criminals will line up at the border to get themselves deported? The Obama administration has concentrated on deporting undocumented immigrants who’ve committed serious crimes, but you have to catch them first, and criminals are usually try very hard to prevent themselves from being caught.

I think it is time for the media to stop reporting what Trump says as actual policy positions. We all know now it is just gibberish and we have no idea–and hopefully never will–what policies he would actually put in place. Trump himself has no idea. These things should read like “Today Trump said this, adding yet another topping to the world’s largest all-you-can-eat word salad bar. Since we know it is bullshit we are not going to waste our time our yours analyzing the potential implications or getting upset about it. It’s just more lies. Move on.”
