Yes, let’s get back to warehousing, electrocuting, and overmedicating people who need help, especially if they haven’t done anything wrong. The mentally ill are infinitely more likely to be the victims of violence, often when in “mental institutions” (why didn’t he just say “loony bins”?) than the perpetrators.

OK, so now we have the “unalienable right” to liberty vs the 2nd Amendment. Dueling constitutional rights. Which will win? My money is on the 2nd Amendment. People are willing to do anything except give up their guns.
It won’t make a difference. The standard for locking up someone who hasn’t committed a crime has to be very, very high. This is why all the warnings about the Parkland shooter didn’t result in him getting any treatment. People make threats all the time, most of them idle. After all during the campaign, Trump has said things like, “I’ll beat the crap out of you,” while miming punching. He said “part of the problem is . . . no one want to hurt each other any more.” “In the good old days, this doesn’t happen because we used to treat them very, very rough.”
As long as we have the same high, high standards for depriving someone of the right to buy an assault weapon (aka low, low standards for getting a gun), we’re going to have guns in the hands of the mentally unstable, criminals and their abettors.

Oh yes, again. The Trumpster is really raking them up today. First he’s going to run into a live shooting incident unarmed because he’s Rambo and secondly, he’s opening a discussion on mental institutions because he belongs in one.
Also like the idea of naming his personal pilot as head of the Federal Aviation Association because . . .the man can fly a plane. Whoo-hoo. I’m guessing his second recommendation will be Ivanka because she just flew to South Korea and back without upchucking.
