We need to take back WI, MI, and PA.
I think Biden would do that and maybe get OH in play, maybe FL.
I think Harris/Brown secures these states (maybe/maybe not FL) would also put NC and GA in play (at least help the Senate races there)

I know Biden polls well presently, but I think he presents one of the weaker matchups v. Trump b/c it becomes a personality contest. Trump likes that sort of match up.
I think we need contrast. I think we need Kamala Harris. Sheâs the best politician among the group of candidates. She is relentlessly focused and on message. She has policy proposals which cut to both the core of racial and economic inequality in this nation. She will engender a max minority turnout while hitting 2018 margins in the suburbs.
Michigan & Wisconsin have will have Democratic governors in 2020.
Ooops.
Yes and no, yes because I havenât had more than a sip of coffee yet, and no because itâs the same old B.S.
There is no there in there them words. No plan, no policy, and especially no path forward. As @davidn said âDonnie two scoops had two years that he did not need Democrats, the GOP controlled everything.â So why didnât they get more done? They delivered on their promised tax cuts for everyone, Mitch delivered on more judges (because he previously blocked more judges for 6 years), and Trump played golf, lots of golf.
Agreed, I think Biden could do it, but is more risky, for the reasons you state.
And Dems have never won the presidency with a candidate over 60.
I think Harris is the total package. I think that Brown rounds out the working class end of the base.
Harris has been my #1 for a while. I donât see that changing. As for VP, if Beto runs a strong race (which I expect he will) the party will lean on Harris to pick him as the #2, and I think that would be fine. The party would like to keep the OH Senate seat.
Ds please drop your ridiculous Robin Hood BS of trying to take from the rich and give to the poor and work with me to line my pockets regardless of how much it fucks everyone elseâŚitâs the Trump way!
There were some funny moments last night:
âIf it doesnât blow, you can forget about television for that night,â he said at a rally in Michigan.
âDarling, I want to watch television.â âIâm sorry! The wind isnât blowing.â I know a lot about wind,â he added.
So do a lot of rural supporters and they know how moronic he sounded. They are putting up those windmills and solar installations on their farmland. Farmerâs are making money by leasing their land for these projects. Itâs much more profitable than planting crops without the risk. Many of them are Trump supporters that know if the wind doesnât blow, they can still watch TV. And when itâs dark or cloudy, they still have power.
When he was talking about how " our people" always show up to vote and pull that lever or whatever youâre pulling for us. Then he made a sort of a jerking off motion, I had a fleeting thought that he knew exactly what he was doing and I had to laugh. Canât do anything about him until next election so might as find some humor in that windbag and the robotic, mindless dolts who show up for his rallies.
Having made those points, Iâd also say that the Dems are bringing 70 mill to 75 mill to the polls. The GOP will probably top out at 65 mill. I think any nominee is likely to beat Trump. Itâs a question of whether our partyâs coalition has enough self-confidence to set aside the doubts and pull the lever. On that question, I think candidates like Harris position the party best to capture that coalition with little drop off. I think candidates like Biden and Bernie would have a lot of work to do there.
Anyone who thinks it will be easy is wrong because that leads to slacking off but I hope itâs not many. Theyâll fight hard to stay in power. But that said, Trump inspires a certain segment in a way that Jimmy Carter, say, couldnât. But I donât think that translates into more votes. Trump looks at these rallies and talks about âenthusiasmâ and âspiritâ without talking about the poll results, and I donât blame him. He will always be able to get people to come to these rallies. But he couldnât get people to vote for his program last year and enthusiasm against him is pretty lively too.
Another thing: I take back anything nice I ever said about Jonathan Lemire. This is a terrible article in several ways. I hope they pay him enough to buy himself a dictionary, Jesus dude. And there was not âno evidence,â you stupid fuck. Disgraceful.
Thanks! Iâm one of the people freaked out by the MAGA rallies for sure. Make my stomach churn and my skin crawl. Too many similarities with Hitler/Mussolini and other dictator âralliesâ and adoration. Especially as I totally donât get the attraction. And I do worry about the âfacts.â and that they really just donât seem to matter to the Trump crowd. Itâs all hatred and bigotry and ignorance. I suppose there must be âhonorable Republicansâ but boy, they sure are very quiet and evidently in short supply.
We did get around 15% of GOPers to vote for Dem candidates in 2018. AZ-SEN is a good example.
You know the one good thing about Barrâs claims of Muellerâs report is that Donald and a lot of his followers actually believe the report shows him in a good light. So they might go against the advice of Rs that actually know whatâs in it and release it all. Granted if they find out it shows a lot of shit they will deny it does, but might help bring over folks that are for some reason still sitting on the fence about Donald and republicans.
Fat, petulant, vulgar, profane, self-serving slob says what?
What worked for him in 2016 will not work for him in 2020. He needs the economy to keep strong, if it doesnât, heâs finished.
Not all of his supporters are morons. Many are, but not all.
Me too.
I think that he is too green for good ticket balance w/ Harris. Beto is an OK VP pick for one of our older candidates, should they gain the nomination, as the youth and excitement is what theyâd potentially lack.
I question the judgment of the DNC on these types of things. They always seem to be an election cycle behind the electorate. (IMHO)
Me Too, but Iâd rather put our Ticket outside of cheating distance from Trump and his Russian accomplices.
100% agree
It required two of you to write that shit? What? Did they give you free food?
You cannot do a âvictory lapâ based on a partisan summary of a report you refuse to release to the public.
In the Academy, people write articles which are expanded into books. Usually the reader can see the relation between the two.
So Trump is, essentially, asking America to believe that whatâs in Barrâs Sesame Street Essay corresponds to the Mueller Report.
He just wonât let Congress and the public see it.
One other thingâŚno matter how much AP tries to Distort For Trump, there are tens and tens and TENS of millions of people who have waited for the Mueller Report and demand to see it. The term âMueller Reportâ has a different connotation to sensible people than the strawmen Trump invents to distract.
