Discussion: Trump U Lawyers Ask That Trial Be Postponed Until After Inauguration

Sadly, you are right.

This isn’t quite the same as the defendant who kills both his parents, and then asks for the court’s mercy because he is an orphan.
But it’s pretty fucking close.

Easy answer. Hell NO.

Even during the worst of the W Misadministration, I was never despondent as I am now. Angry and incredulous often, but never despondent. :frowning:

ā€œWe’re in uncharted territory,ā€ Trump attorney Daniel Petrocelli said, according to the Washington Post, later citing ā€œvery difficult circumstance for a sitting president—more so, I would say, for a president-elect.ā€

Calling it now

Get ready for an exciting game of ā€˜kick the can’.

I don’t understand the grounds for the request. Other than preparation for his testimony, the lawyers should be doing all the work for the trial. So, again, NO!

And while we’re at it, do NOT certify a settlement that doesn’t admit fraud.

Overwhelming hubris. Donald distraction. F*cked, we are.

Well that will be a fail

@maxaroo That’s the classic definition of chutzpah, which the thing has more of than the entire population of New York.

President Pence is talking over WH transition from Criminal Christie so the Defendant Elect will have the trial on his plate which I realize is about the best name for the thing. From HO to DE

Why? All they want is a different application of the law for Trump than for everyone else. Isn’t that the Amerikan way under Trump?

Just the beginning of shoveling piles of money out the back door.

How about, NO.

If my shrink hadn’t retired a while back I’d be planning some marathon sessions with her. Instead, I go between these feelings and cry when I begin to think of him for four years and his hands and arms waving in back of a lectern with the presidential seal on it…

So big thanks to Conway’s husband. Send president elect to prison! Send the real winner to the White House.

ā€œI mean, he has a Ministry of Truth, Ministry of Peace, Ministry of Plenty, and Ministry of Love to build and staff, to say nothing of increasing citizen surveillance capabilities and drafting thoughtcrime legislation.ā€

And if he does say ā€œNoā€ I hope he’ll point out that he’s done Drumpf enough favors already.

I’m sure someone said it, but obviously he will refuse to participate in the suit after inauguration, citing executive priviledge. I suppose he’ll quickly confirm another Justice to SCOTUS who can give him a majority, then let the issue go to Court. His point has no merit at all, obviously. After he takes office the suit will be much more burdensome.

Yes… so as I understand it, this means HO is quite mistaken if he thinks he can stop his civil lawsuits if he can have them put off until after the inauguration.

But SCOTUS will simply overturn the decision. Do you want to bet otherwise?
