I have no problem with Painter.
You infer that which was not implied.
I think this is a matter of human (mis)communication, not merely logic. Based on what I know about my friend, and the way she speaks, and the way she thinks, and the way she emotes, she was jumping to the defense of her honor by thinking that I was attacking her integrity and her political values and that she thought I was implying or saying outright that she was implying or saying outright that Painter is corrupt and would not be a good senator. So I assumed as fact, as a true statement, that she felt that Painter was corrupt and would not be a good senator.

Every single republican at this point has bought into at least one of these deeply flawed mind sets. They are now members of the Party of Trump, which is a blatently racist, sexist push to get back to the white patriarchy of yester America. Just for the record, every Republican I know at this point is racist. Quietly, deeply, blindly racist. Most are non violent, some are well educated, many are low profile sexist, most don’t like change. All are racist,

I don’t think there would be a huge difference between Painter and Smith on some levels. Especially in the corporate sphere. As a person who generally would never vote or consider a Republican politician, there was one in Minnesota that I really never thought of as a Republican… Arne Carlson. They don’t make Republicans like that anymore.
I don’t know enough about where Painter stands on social issues. I do enjoy watching his interviews on TV. Not sure if being anti Trump is enough of a reason to vote for him. Being as Mark Dayton is progressive and he chose Smith as Lt. Gov. Well, that gives her the edge in my view. That, and I am suspicious that he could change parties and join the Republicans once he’s sworn in. I have no reason to believe this would happen…why take the chance?
