Discussion: Trump Touts 77 'Major' Walls Around The World: 'Close To 100 Percent Successful'

Haha… If I spend a rainy afternoon playing Carcassonne, I start planning walls and roads around carpet patterns and sidewalk stains.

Trump’s wall obsession is nothing compared to mine when I’m on a Carcassonne bender.

At least didn’t build the wall already knowing the British were coming by sea.

Trump wants to build a wall knowing (well everyone else knows) most undocumented people and drugs come in through ports of entry

Is this Lego wall one of the 77? Because I think building something like this at the southern border could keep Trump occupied for the rest of his miserable life, and it wouldn’t get too big or too intrusive. And when he dies, the Legos can just be put in some big garbage bags and given to his worthless kids.

The wall between Fat Nixon and reality is increasingly impenetrable.

Was that something Fox news claimed last night?

edit: actually about a week ago.

Reminds of my mom’s reaction when I would complain that she wouldn’t let me do something I wanted to and made the fatal mistake of claiming other kids were allowed to:

“So, what, if all the other kids walk off the end of the pier are you going to too?”

Betcha Nancy comes back on this one with her Mommy voice.

We forgot a few other great wall successes:

The biggest success of them all, the Maginot Line. It did stop German ground troops. So they flew paratroopers over it instead. The guns were all fixed and pointed east.

The Great Wall of China. It couldn’t stop people up north (this was long before there were ethnic Russians to mess about with) from getting in on horseback. It is a “success” in that it generates a massive amount of tourism revenue for China.

Hadrian’s wall. Finding it these days is like playing “where’s Waldo?” but it’s a lot more fun to drive around that part of England. I don’t think it helped the Romans, though.

And the biggest fail of them all: my backyard fence. My dogs can get out and rabbits and the like with deer ticks can get in. And the mosquitos (fighters loaded with West Nile disease) and birds (bombers loaded with weaponized bird shit) fly right in.

I am reminded of the immortal words of one Brian Fantana: “They’ve done studies you know. Sixty percent of the time it works every time.”

He’s sounding more and more like a man with dementia.

Wow! Could he be any more lame or low energy? Walls that keep out reindeer, walls that have been breached numerous times, walls that are already planned for demolition, etc in the list he chooses to tout. Meanwhile, I can’t help but notice that the walls and fences that are working are manned. Anything in his budget for, you know, people?

In the event an ear worm takes over, I find the following effective antidotes.

Or

There are now 77 major or significant Walls built around the world, with 45 countries planning or building Walls.

Several thousand vape shops have opened also. And they're successful. But that isn't an argument we should have even more of them.

One more thing, most of the security for Spain’s Morocco wall comes from Morocco.

Mexico is going to pay for manning our wall.

Ask the French how well their wall did against the Nazis about 80 years ago. I’m sure there are few left alive who remember what a bang-up job it did.

What’s that, sonny? Did you say Peyton Manning is going to man the wall? Well, I’m in.

Trump will demand Mexico make possession of a shovel a capital offense, or he’ll destroy their economy.

How? Is he eligible to run for pres there?

Is he including the Berlin Wall in his string of successes?
