The eremitical Mr. Trump.

He is going to become very very isolated if he only goes to events where he is loved and admired. I hope he really likes West Virginia.

Trump hides from artists. Weak. Impotent. Sad. #JustDrumpfThings

Not even to thumb his nose? It’s bunker time.

If he can’t be the center of attention, he won’t go.

I’m sure all the honorees are relieved.

ETA: Good timing on the part of the entire Arts and Humanities Council, quitting just before the awards for maximum embarrassment.

Shameful. UnPresidential. Self-serving. Awkward. Stupid.

I’m guessing they won’t even be putting up a Christmas tree, or pardoning a turkey!

Can’t they get anything right?

Thing is, you can go and not be a “distraction” if you aren’t literally the worst President who ever lived and a pretty terrible example of a human being. If you’re not that it can work out fine.

I hope this pic is retweeted hundreds of times so Rump can stumble upon. His blood pressure will soar.

He’s going to hold another Honor concert for Ted Nugent, for his ability to play lots of loud notes while holding a machine gun, and Sarah Palin for her spoken word ability. Oops, almost forgot Kid "I’m from a trailer park just like you"Rock Hint: he grew up with money–his Dad owned a big car dealership.

Pretty soon you’ll be able to divide Americans into two groups: (1) Decent people who don’t want to be in the same room as Donald Trump, and (2) People who … well, you know who and what they are.

The last time he took chance on something like this was the Al Smith dinner. He thought he’d be cheered by a bunch of rich conservative Catholics and got booed instead. I was always amazed he managed to go onstage as a pro wrestler until I realized that he thought he was the good guy.

I hope so too. It’s a question of contributing what you can. :innocent:

There are a great many murderous thugs that deserve universal disdain. The main reason they aren’t reviled by literally billions of people is because their deeds cause animus pretty much contained within their nation’s borders. Duterte comes to mind. A gaggle of African warlords. Terrible people. But in sheer numbers can there be anyone on the planet more despised, across all borders, regardless of the nation you live in, than Donald Trump? It’s possible he actually is viscerally disliked by more than a billion people. And he doesn’t even work that hard at garnering that much hate, everything he does to generate it comes naturally, it’s second nature. If he put his mind to it he could get on the bad side of 2-3 billion people I’d wager.

Oh I’m sure Donny will be pardoning a whole rafter of turkeys. But they still might lose their heads.

I’m sure if he was going we’d all be complaining about hypocrisy because he wants to eliminate NEA.
