Todays Financial Times had an article about the worry among farmers about the Trump administrations general lack of people with experience from rural communiities ( and still no Sec. of Agr. I guess Jared will have to do that on the side). They realize that some of Trump’s policies could potentially hit them hard…

I read this in Kopin Tan’s column in Barron’s in February and I think it’s insightful. Trump’s messing with immigration is only going to hurt the economy–and hurt it badly and quickly–and despite all of his other egregious stenches, that will likely be the one that kills him with voters, and the one he can’t pardon his way out of.

It seems like just yesterday the GOP and rwingfringelandia was howling about Obama’s misuse of executive orders of course like just about everything else they screeched about it wasn’t true. Pew Research found that on average (over 8 years), Obama issued 35 EOs a year. It would be interesting to see a tally of Trump’s to date.

There is NO shortage of qualified tech workers. There is a shortage of very cheap qualified tech workers. That’s your H-1B worker. Scum, but cheap.

What he is doing is repealing the TON of executive orders done by Obama. Obama did nothing, except issue executive orders.

Yup, another pants-on-fire situation.
I still remember the immediate post-Brexit-vote interview with one of the pro-Brexit politicians who had the unmitigated nerve to deny that they had promised “the money saved by not paying EU share would go to the NHS”, while standing in front of one of the campaign buses with exactly that blazoned on the side of the bus.
I thought that was the most shameless political lie I had ever heard.
Then came Drumpfie and even that fades into the background.

The H-1B, along with the L-1, O-1, B-1, F-1/OPT, J-1, and several more, are routinely abused by tech firms. There are millions of cheap-ass foreign scabs brought in to steal jobs from American tech workers, who have been devastated by the scum H-1B firms. This is a cheap labor TEMPORARY WORKER VISA. None of these are IMMIGRATION ORIENTED.
Sessions will be clamping down hard on H-1Bs, and looking for cheating, which is widespread. He will also be looking for cheating on the B-1 (workers who visit but are actually here to do US-based work).
Trump will also be rewriting rules to assist US firms in getting US contracts. Enough of the cheap labor stealing jobs.

Yes! I also look forward to Trump making it possible for Americans to toil away in the hot sun picking agricultural products for our dinner tables. Too many illegal Mexican and Central American immigrants are robbing jobs from the millions of unemployed U.S. citizens clamoring to stoop bent over in dirty fields picking lettuce and grapes. To say nothing of all the meat processing work they’re stealing. I know many people itching to meet the production quota of butchering 4 chickens a minute, 10 hours a day, wielding razor sharp knives in close quarters while standing on their feet all day. Don’t you? Out with the illegals, and in with Americans desperate to do the work they want and need.
