Discussion: Trump Threatens To 'Close The Border Permanently,' Urges Congress To Fund Wall

Always clumsy when a mealy-mouthed man of mush tries to talk like an ironhanded despot.

Trump’s tweets are like some fat, spoiled little child throwing spitwads at the TV.

Isn’t Mexico funding the wall? When did that stop being a thing? Was that the pivot?

Sabre rattling in the Ukraine, manufactured immigration crisis, a partisan buffoon for AAG - infrastructure week is totally lit.

Unfortunately, Trump’s idea of “infrastructure” is all military related.

Last complaint… what the heck is the compulsive capitalizing thing with Trump, the M on “Migrant” seems more than a little gratuitous.

Migrants at the southern border are the least of the USA’s problems. At the top the list is the “stone cold criminal” heading the country.

Could this violent over response by trump be his “wag the perro” plan?

Don’t go using Messican words like that. You’ll make him angry.

So that’s the immediate reason to,keep this up - Trump is building support for building the damn wall that he assured everyone that Mexico would pay for. Now he’s ordering Mexico to send the immigrants back or he’ll permanently close the border. Since when does he get to order another sovereign nation to take such steps. And he completely ignores the economic consequences of even trying to “close the border.”
I vote we instead build a wall around Mar a Lago and keep him there.

I had a friend who, for reasons I’m not aware of, used “lower case” when she meant “lower class.”

DUMP: “Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”
PERSON: “Heck, I don’t like you now.”

You have created this situation at the border, Donnie. You’ve made a crisis situation so you think congress can’t do anything else but vote for a wall and then all the immigrant problems will be over. If you think the Dems are going to work with you on this one to get your stupid wall, you are truly looney. What you’re doing is not the art of the deal.

How the hell can this moron actually close the border? Don’t we have large amounts of commerce and legal travel (including our own citizens) using that border?

Yes - it would be economic suicide for us. But for simple minds, only simple solutions exist to complex problems, real or imagined.

When Trump enters Mississippi we must demand the permanent closing of that border.

Not to mention the fact that it is almost 2,000 miles long.

Empty threat from an empty head — how appropriate :rage::rage::rage::rage::rage:

As I said on a previous thread, Donnie can’t shut down the border — not effectively, at least. He’d have to back down within 72 hours because the car manufacturers would be telling Don that they would begin laying people off— and they’d point the finger straight at Orange Tinpot Dictator.

ETA: Donny Deutsch just called Trump a “wussie” on Morning Joe, noting Trump still hasn’t visited US troops in a combat zone.

Trump would be OK with that. No doubt hundreds of auto workers would be willing to look into the camera and say it was unfortunate they were laid off, but it is a small price to pay if it means keeping Mexican rapists and terrorists out of the country.

“Looks like me and Martha and the kids will be living at the shelter, but you know, MAGA, whatcha gonna do?”
