Discussion: Trump: The Middle East Would Be More Stable Under Saddam and Gadhafi

Discussion for article #241376

He’s right; ISIS was formed by upper echelon Iraqi military personnel who were stupidly fired from their jobs by Cheney and Bush.

Blame your own party jackass, it’s YOUR people who caused this fucking clusterfuck.

Every now and then, he stumbles onto some truth.

These statements will not endear him to the G.O.P. establishment, of course.

No, but the ignert asswipes who are his base will cheer him on because stupid.

And Europe would of course be have been a much more stable place if Napolean had remained in power.

Well, they’re right. If Trump had been President in 2003 instead of Obama, we never would have made those terrible mistakes in Iraq. And if Trump had been President in 2001 instead of Obama, 9/11 wouldn’t have happened.

What’s that you say?

Heck, his base think President Obama was responsible for Iraq, Libya, Katrina, 9/11…and I am not kidding.

I’m not sure if Trump is trying to troll folks or not, but that’s now two important foreign policy contradictions from him in one month.

…

F— it. Back to guessing what Seattle will do, now that ‘Beast Mode’ is out (Disclosure: I have a fantasy matchup that I want to win.)

Well, assuming Trump isn’t talking out his ass, which he does pretty much 24/7.

If Napoleon had had even just one B-52, he’d have won the Battle of Waterloo.

Don’t forget TARP. You know, Obama’s TARP. In Orange County CA they have people on street corners wanting Obama impeached because of TARP and who also want to reinstate Glass Steagall.

Naaa

Wellington had Godzilla AND King Kong waiting in the wings. Plus all those orc mercenaries led by Sarumon. 1 B-52 wouldn’t have evened it up. Unless if it was Kate Pierson. Then maybe.

“Of course it would be,” Trump said. "You wouldn’t have had your Benghazi situation which is one thing which was just a terrible situation. But, of course, it would. Libya is — is not even — nobody even knows what’s going on over there. It’s not even a country anymore."

Ok he did the usual talking point, but in that same vein, he just went against the internationalist wing of the GOP. Nice to see that war is continuing.

Nah.

Let’s go Vikings. (Not really, but I need the Broncos D downgraded to three or four points.)

IF he is calculating here, he is calculating self-sabotage of his campaign.

The GOP Base generally still thinks GWB was a terrific president, better than Poppy because he never raised taxes and kicked Ay-rab butt.

If Trump just sez stuff then eventually he puts too much strain on his support.

The fall of Qaddafi did, however, take place on Obama’s watch.

Look at Christie, we who pay close attention knew he was a disaster and washed up when he still had high polling numbers. For the average folks it takes a while for them to see what is obvious to us.

He likes the strongman type, doesn’t he? I’m surprised he didn’t mention Idi Amin approvingly—they were very alike and would have been besties. But he probably doesn’t want to date himself by talking about a guy from the Seventies—media savvy, The Donald’s got that if he has anything.

he ain’t wrong… and that’s certainly a more honest assessment than what either party is willing to admit/consider.

Sorry Donald but you are wrong.
