The handlers are there to keep him from going off the rails. If he doesn’t get his continuous doses of adulation he could lose it big-time. Kind of reminds me of the Star Trek episode “And the Children Shall Lead” All the adults have been killed and the children’s “friendly angel” is running the show…

This is definitely a big story, but if you rank it against everything else that’s going on it’s not Number One.
The fact that he had a whole group of staff and family at the presser clapping and yukking it up shows that he needed their physical support in order to even show up, let alone answer questions: it shows that he is a coward. It would have been better for him to just show up unaccompanied and to have faced the music by his lonesome. But he didn’t. Not good.
