That story about the Iranian nuclear stockpile being taken away by the Russians per the Iran deal the President negotiated is a big deal and worth everyone’s attention as it was so roundly condemned by the GOP do-nothings and war-mongers in Congress. Sadly the mainstream media in general seems to be barely mentioning it either in any significant way. That’s how pathetic most media in the country is these days.

Actually, give the circumstances, I think it’s better that the Iran fuel hand-off doesn’t get too much play. It was easily the weakest aspect of the deal. Russia is a borderline failed state. The longer oil stays below $50/barrell, the worse off the country becomes. They’ve got nothing else anyone wants but weapons.

That’s why I disagree with numerous friends here who think this isn’t news. Yes, it’s ridiculous, yes, it’s bizarre, but that’s what makes it news. A Presidential candidate has chosen as spokesperson a buffoonish, self-promoting, norm-violating, half-insane wacko. It’s significant, it speaks volumes about the man and his judgment, and it’s news. There doesn’t seem to be any standard, any norm he’s able to recognize or be limited by. It’s just not a thing we’ve really seen before in would-be leaders of advanced, industrialized nations.
