In this election, I have tended to look on the darker side, so as not to be overconfident. I am sure many of you are the same way. There is so much at stake.
But, Mr. Trump is running one of the absolutely worst campaigns I have ever witnessed. Name me one positive step or utterance he has made in the last two weeks. Now he is completely offending even his Republican establishment supporters. And to top it all off, he is campaigning in California! California!
I am exultant. Should I continue to look at the dark side? I probably will, but every now and then I look in the mirror and there is that sly smile.

Even losing he is doing tremendous damage to our democracy. Perhaps if I were merely partisan, I’d rejoice, but in that case I’d probably be in the GOP, and that’s not going so well (at least on the national level) right now.
