Discussion: Trump Sons Distance Themselves From Charity Event, Dial Back Access

Nah, they are simply , just like daddy, seeing how far they can push things before getting push back…

The former half-term governor of Alaska and failed Vice-Presidential candidate who is famously not that intellectually gifted could nevertheless teach this family a thing or two about successful grifting. They’ve had to unceremoniously retreat several times now from clumsy, obvious efforts to sell access or cash in via other means. They’re good at roping in the suckers, credit where due, but their getting-away-with-it skills have yet to develop, and the fun is just beginning with the GSA lease, the emoluments clause, the Lockheed stock sale, I don’t have time for all the rest but you get the idea.

What I don’t understand is why they dress up to look like the dickhead frat boy villains in every college comedy. Maybe our rallying cry should be “Nerds! Nerds! Nerds! Nerds!”

@george_c, I don’t forgive you for making me think of Journey.

That defect, among others, is genetic.

Excellent point. They’re bastardly rich punks out of Central Casting, as familiar as a species of bird.

To be fair to them, Princess Grift of the North didn’t actually win, so she isn’t as hamstrung as the sons are. Sad, really. Federal regulations are hampering their ability to succeed in business. (And by “federal regulations” I mean the Constitution and long-standing federal laws.)
I am sure that even as we write, they are having their sleaze specialists concoct ways that they can do whatever they want. To quote the Wicked Witch of the West “these things must be done delicately.”

So I’ve checked my calendar and Jan. 21st is a Saturday and the day after the inauguration so when will all this “On Day One I’m Gonna Do Shyte” suppose to happen? Did he lie about this also,or does he not realize that being the US President is a 24/7/365 for four years? Or how ever long it takes to impeach him.

Oh c’mon. They are grifters. They TRIED to grift thinking ‘just this one last time’ or ‘my daddy breaks ALL the rules’ and they got caught. The uproar a month before the ‘big event’ caused them to back away. NOBODY believes their ‘names were used without their permission’. That is all the TRUMPs have. Their NAMES. They’ve been selling access for years.

What’s the purpose of this foundation? To pay all the legal bills after the Trumps’s are sued and/or arrested?

“Distance themselves”??? Are you friggin’ joking? These little crooks are knee-deep in this and are drooling at the prospect of making billions off the office of POTUS. They will never stop grifting. These are very bad people. Will the GOP House ever have the guts or integrity to draft articles of impeachment when Drumpf commits yet another felony? Hahahahahahahahahah!

These twerps (and I say that with apologies to twerps everywhere) aren’t even good at grifting. In fact, they’re terrible grifters!

It’s called type casting.

And perhaps more importantly…the group is still taking in donations.

But I’d like to point out the utter crassness with which they attempt to peddle access. Usually, a candidate goes about doing something like this through back channels…have your people talk to people at a fund raising event and let it be known that there might be a weekend available soon <wink, wink>. That way they keep a lid on it and keep it among people that the candidate is interested in talking with anyway.

But in both this case and the Ivanka case…they pretty much just dump it out there in public…“Hey anyone want to talk to us or Daddy? Donate money, we are up for sale” (Quite literally up for sale). This of course creates the problem of instantly getting nailed by the press and ethics boards, but it actually points to a much deeper problem…

…Trump doesn’t have a network of friends/supporters like most candidates. He has to sell/market access in such a blatant manner because there is nobody to glad hand for a few more bucks. He deals exclusively in the currency of loyalty and trust, and is very grudging about giving out the latter, while demanding the former with extreme petty viciousness.

Now, all that being said…I suspect at some point in the future, when someone does hack or get access to Trump and more importantly Trump Organization’s taxes…we are going to see that his very wealthy cabinet have made a series of investments into his companies in order to secure their positions. Its naive of us to think that Trump appointed billionaires because of a shared world view…he appointed them because they have the money to pay…Trump could care less about any policy.

“One last time?” You were being ironic, right? This is going to go on and on until the Orange One is thrown out of the White House.

Those are good points, but sheesh, they’ve had 18 months to think about this. They’re raising eyebrows and hackles, they’re cementing a certain reputation for themselves, and Dad just paid $25 million bucks rather than testify about Trump University. So while I agree with what you’re saying I’m just going to quietly continue to wonder if desire doesn’t exceed skill and ability here. It’s like when a dog pulls the turkey off the table. It can get away with it maybe once, even get a couple bites out of it, but you can’t imagine it’s ever going to figure out how to take the turkey quietly and go off and enjoy it at leisure without hearing about it eventually.

Not dickhead frat boys…the dress up like Christian Bates in American Psycho, even down to the grease back 1980s hair do. Probably because its the one character they have ever related to in a movie.

I’m restraining myself from posting the death photos of Uday and Qusay Hussein.
