I flinch at the words “President trump”. It’s like a slap upside the head.
It’s just wrong.
Saying he’s bringing back coal is like saying he’s bringing by the horse and buggy. Power consumers have moved on. This is just stagecraft on Mr. T’s part.
But, even if it does bring back some coal jobs…will there be more or fewer than the 35 jobs created by the DAPL approval? Big deal. Suck rock.
Morphing from threat to our liberty to exigent planet destroyer, Trump today hits a new low. He’s the perfect embodiment of stupid, cruel, short-sighted, and incompetent.
That happens in the long run, and we all know what Keynes had to say about that.
I’d like to offer special thanks to all the environmentalists who stayed home on Election Day, because both Hillary and Trump are “crooked.”
Short term. The way climate collapse works, it causes droughts which cause mass migrations which cause wars. Sea level rise is an afterthought. The Arab Spring was caused by a heat wave in Russia that killed the wheat harvest raising food prices in the middle east. The Syrian Civil War was caused in part by a devastating drought that displaced a population of farmers bringing them into conflict with rival groups. What happens when the California aquifer runs dry in the next extended drought caused by a persistent blocking high in the Pacific caused by the loss of difference in temperature between the pole and the equator? Or another Hurricane Sandy bouncing off a similar blocking high off Greenland, hitting NYC even worse next time? What if Russian crops fail again?
We need a new “climate party” greener than the Greens, focused almost exclusively on addressing the climate crisis head on. The dems just aren’t going to wake up to the full urgency of the crisis in time, and the GOP of course is subhuman in their comprehension of the issue.
