Love this, eddy.

I wonder if anyone will take up this plan and form these associations.

I was thinking, when Trump signs an executive order that destroys something already doing some good–like EPA regs, then it’s effective in a bad way. When he “authorizes” other people to do something with hazy implementation or that won’t make business sense, then it’s an empty gesture. Which is why few of Trump’s orders are anything but bogus “wins”.
All this fuss over proposed sabotage assumes that insurance companies are going to sit idly by and let their business be screwed up, when in reality they hire lobbyists to work intra-agency to blunt such assaults. IMO there will be a few things done for show by people who owe him,and it’ll be time for the next big signing. Until he’s gone.

That was my impression as well.

Too bad he (not that he actually did any of the work on this) can’t propose legitimate changes and tweaks that it really needs and would make it work better for folks.

This might be true, but the “quiet” damage that’s been done is undeniable: preventing new signups by failing to advertise or encourage them, cutting money for outreach or cutting enrollment, driving up premiums with defaulting on cost-share subsidies, and allowing the IRS to ignore any reporting about who is enrolled and if you paid a penalty on your tax return. Fast approaching 1,000 cuts, it seems.

The Obamacare “death spiral” theme has never appealed to me. Not all of the individual items you list have occurred… Maybe best to agree on getting rid of Trump and winning the election to reverse what damage has been done…

“This executive order is the start of a long process as the gears of the federal bureaucracy churn, not the final word,”
Translation = “You won’t believe the never ending amount of bullshit this will create”.

And just like magic the existing rules and regulations disappear and courts will become clogged, just like what happened with his immigration ‘plan’. “We’ll see” that Dummy’s executive orders were illegal to begin with. Another giant victory lap backward.

A cry for help ???

Thanks, JB! I’ve been trying to help get it established a “common sense/conventional wisdom” meme for some years now. As shown by many commenters and observers in the campaigns last year and since the election, the idea’s becoming much more widely shared. I doubt that I have a strong claim on actually having originated it, but I think I’ve helped propel it slightly, anyway.

The main thing is there’s just a lot of evidence to support it and, as with Frederick Douglass, it “…is being recognized more and more, I notice.”

Good enough.

Uncertainty will damage the exchanges, because insurance companies will drop out if they don’t know whether they will be paid the subsidies. Obamacare will suffer death by a thousand cuts.
