Trump had some inkling what the decision was about. I call fraud! Someone must have helped him; written it on his hand or something.
Obama is truly a superlative President. And I mean that in the most technical way - everything he does is the MOST or the LEAST or the WORST or BEST ever.
First, the SCOTUS didn’t rule on it.
Second, this is no different than the actions other presidents of both parties have done for over half a century (prosecutorial discretion on deportation which is squarely within the law and Executive Powers)
Third, this non-ruling will not alter the above prosecutorial discretion, but only on making amiable a legal residency status for those covered under the EO.
“The deferred action policy that has been in place for the last four years is not affected by this ruling. Enforcement priorities developed by my Administration are not affected by this ruling. This means that the people who might have benefited from the expanded deferred action policies – long-term residents raising children who are Americans or legal residents – they will remain low priorities for enforcement. As long as you haven’t committed a crime, our limited immigration enforcement resources are not focused on you.”
“But, today’s decision is frustrating to those who seek to grow our economy and bring a rationality into our immigration system – and to allow people to come out of the shadows and lift this perpetual cloud on them. I think it is heartbreaking for the millions of immigrants who’ve made their lives here; who’ve raised families here; who’ve hoped for the opportunity to work, pay taxes, serve in our military, and more fully contribute to this country we all love in an open way.”
“Before this, what was the most unconstitutional action by a President?” – theoretical actual journalist
The election, and the Supreme Court appointments that come with it will decide whether or not we have a border and, hence, a country,"
Huh?
P.S. I just realized that Trump is proceeding from the logical fallacy:
Argumentum de stercore bovis[1]
[1]It doesn’t really exist, but it should.
Excessive use of superlative forms that doesn’t make fuckin sense is tiring.
Trump no more wrote the displayed tweet than I did…some haiku expertise is required here.
Little does he know among all the little else he knows that this is expected to drive Latinos to vote in droves for anyone who supports the president’s policies on immigration… I personally believe it will also lead to Clinton picking Julian Castro. Imagine. A Veep nominee using his bully pulpit up until election day
Are you saying that Trump has a “ghost tweeter?” And btw, has Trump made the pivot yet?
Anyone else catch the racist undertones in the Don’s Tweet?
SC has kept us safe from exec amnesty–for now. But Hillary has pledged to expand it, taking jobs from Hispanic & African-American workers.
I read this as saying that undocumented immigrants take jobs from Hispanic and African-American workers, but apparently not white workers who have superior jobs or something.
“taking jobs from Hispanic & African-American workers.”
The only people gullible enough to swallow this twaddle are white.
I’m glad the constitutional scholar Trump has weighed in.
You know, the guy who wants to weaken the First Amendment in order to sue anybody who says anything mean about him, and ignore the rest of the provisions of that document that are inconvenient.
Not a chance he wrote it. Tipoff: no exclamation points. You’d think his kids or whoever took away his phone would at least have the sense to end with “Boo!” or something to that effect.
Key in on his statement about the workers taking jobs from Hispanic and African-American - what? Is he trying to say these are all low level jobs? What is he or his writer even talking about?
It reveals exactly what he is doing at those Trump Hotels…
…generally lack a college education, live in areas of the country with historical racial animus, and see civil rights as a zero-sum game and watch Fox News.
(Thought I’d narrow it down a bit)
Drumpf has gone to Scotland. Is there any way that we can get him stopped at the border and prevent him from re-entering the country?
Bottom line…Romney got 58% of the white women vote in Florida but Trump already has a 46%
strongly unfavorable rating among Florida white women…so 58%of the white women ain’t happening for Trump in Florida…
and I haven’t even started on the difference in the Hispanic vote in Florida…
