This country has reached some kind of new low in social norms to have accepted someone this vile as nominee for one of the two dominant political parties.
Last night on cable news 90% of the coverage on news broadcasts was focused on Trump - I only saw one short segment on Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
Do these clowns ever ask themselves what the impact will be of what they are doing?

A visit by Khan to the U.S. would involve an entourage of people. Security, advisors, family, other government officials. Khan may include Muslims in his administration and security detail. Obviously his family is Muslim. Do they all get a pass despite being Muslim? What if he had two late teen sons? You know, the profile Trump says is ripe for radicalization? Do they get in? Is everyone free to travel the country by themselves unescorted, or do they have assigned handlers, intelligence agents akin to how North Korea treats all visitors? If Mother Kahn pauses with the children to take a picture standing in front of the Empire State Building does the camera get confiscated? Where does Trump draw the line at his exceptions to xenophobia?

But on the other hand, what would you call it when a potential leader calls for mass deportation and discrimination based on religious affiliation?
Trump has emphatically promised to deport all illegal/undocumented immigrants/aliens if elected. Accepted estimates place the number of people falling into that category at roughly 11 million. That’s 628 people per hour, 24/7, for 730 days assuming two terms to accomplish it. Many will be elderly, or have health issues. There is no assurance there is anywhere for them to be deported to other than dumped on the other side of our southern border. However, many are citizens that fled violence and political persecution in countries south of Mexico. Mexico has no obligation to take people from Nicaragua, Guatemala, Columbia or Venezuala. So, they’d have to be dumped on airport tarmacs in those countries. Some to be tortured and/or killed by security services or gangs in those countries. The sick and disabled would suffer deaths due to being uprooted and having no continued care where they were shipped off to. It’s inevitable Trump’s plans would result in the death or imprisonment of many. So yes, Trump would be conducting an ethnic cleansing, in every sense of the word.

Well, ok, ethnic cleansing. Or purging. Maybe ethnic purging is more acceptable.
